TNA Impact 11/13/08 Christian Gets Made

Here we go TNA starts again with Foley and Jarrett backstage…and then we get that mid 90’s Raw intro. It’s pretty lame. Didn’t hip hop hardcore go down a long time ago? I feel cheated somehow. I still hate the six sided ring. Seriously, go back to the regular ring already! Oh well.

Rhaka Khan and Awesome Kong defeated Roxxi and Taylor Wilde

This apparently was a rematch of sorts from the ppv, and the match was similar in scope. It was the TNA’s way of switching it up a little with Khan in there trying to mix it up with Wilde and Roxxi. This was a pretty cool match and once again the women are just great in the ring. I love these women, as they put on a great show every week, and they are more than just pretty faces, they can actually wrestle! I’m always impressed by the TNA knockouts. Awesome Kong dropped Roxxi yet again with the implant buster and it was over.

Eric Young defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir

This x-division title match caught me by surprise. Eric Young was no longer that nervous guy that came out and wrestled every now and again, now he’s in there confident as ever. Bashir is ok, but he seems a little slow at times. Young was grounded for a good portion of this match. Bashir eventually delivers a low blow and pushes the referee! The ref snaps and attacks Bashir! Eric Young then capitalizes by winning the the x-division title! That’s right, Eric Young, despite getting in very little offense in this match wins the x-division title!

Scott Steiner defeated Rhino

Rhino dominated this match up, and Steiner was slow out there. He has lost a little weight though. He defeats Rhino after interference from Kurt Angle, and this match was a quick one and just lame to me. It was your average Scott Steiner suck fest.

Sting defeated Jay Lethal

I never liked when the world champion would wrestle the undercard, or the lower card. It just seemed like the company was thinking that I’m a stupid fan. There’s no way Jay Lethal was going to defeat Sting. There was just no way, and he didn’t. The thing that surprised me about this match was the amount of punishment Sting took in this match. Jay Lethal was dishing out all his moves, and Sting was always coming back. After some interference, Sting won this match up. The Motor City Machine Guns inadvertently cost Jay Lethal the match up!

Samoa Joe & Aj Styles defeated Beer Money via DQ

Samoa Joe and Aj were dishing out a lot of punishment in the early parts of this match and they were looking good together, as if they were team mates for a long time. Team 3D came down to ringside and Beer Money turns things around and look strong. This is how you do tag team wrestling, finally someone in professional wrestling does it right. This match was actually good, and it brought me back to the good ol’ days of real tag teams that don’t split up after a few matches to fight each other. This match was good, and we saw some good back and forth action from both sides. Team 3D interferes and causes the disqualification and takes out Beer Money!

Christian gets beat up at the end of the show for wanting to go to WWE. He gets torn up, seriously torn up. Dang.
