WWE Raw 11/10/08 Review and Results

We are live in the UK this time around and we start the show with recaps from the 3 hour raw! I admit, I was a little more tired than usual and was looking forward to falling asleep during Raw, but we’ll see how it all went down.

Stephanie McMahon interrupted the show in the middle of a Batista speech. She basically stated that Batista isn’t invoking crap! She looks fat, I’m just saying.

William Regal defeated Santino for the Intercontinental Championship

Regal, in his home town, was getting quite the ovation by the crowd, but Santino was getting a lot of chants as well. This match is the only major thing I was excited for going into Raw and it started off really well. Regal really pushed the envelope, controlling Santino with so many moves, and shocking the Intercontinental champion with a running leg kick that sound horrendous! Santino gets knocked out cold, and loses cleanly. That’s right, William Regal defeated Santino in his home town to become the Intercontinental Champion! So long Honka-meter huh? Short squash match, but it was awesome.

Mike Knox defeated D-Lo Brown

Mike Knox was out there and basically killed D-Lo Brown. That’s right, D-Lo brown jobbed terribly to Mike Knox. Knox looked great, and was fast in his delivery, but come on! Did we really have to get D-Lo Brown squashed? Lame. This wasn’t even a match, just a throwaway waste of time.

Rey Mysterio defeated Kane in a no dq match

Rey Mysterio was all over Kane in this one. He was dishing out everything he had in his move set, and it was looking like Kane was going to lose in a squash match, however Kane grabbed control after the break and threw Rey Mysterio into the barricade head first! Mysterio then was in complete control of the Big Red Machine. Kane using the empty turnbuckle reminded me of last night’s Kevin Nash match in TNA. Kane has lost his luster, he’s not as monstrous as he once was. Rey is good, but there’s no way he should get this much offense in on Kane, he’s just too small, I’m sorry. This match started to get too long for me, with little or no major offense towards the end. Kane just seemed to be taking too much time setting up the next move to really get me interested. Mysterio delivered a good drop toe hold onto Kane into the exposed turnbuckle and landed the worst finisher, and won the match! Kane once again loses to Rey Mysterio!

Batista defeated Cody Rhodes

Batista defeated Cody Rhodes easily. Rhodes didn’t get a whole lot of offense in, and I’m beginning to think that Rhodes has the easiest job in the WWE. He just goes out there ever 3 or 4 weeks and gets beat up. This match was a throwaway match up at best, and is stupid. I thought Orton was going to fight Batista tonight, but they never really got their match going, and Rhodes took the punishment for Orton on this night. Batista won with a Batista Bomb and this was done before you could even get into it. Rhodes is on his way out, that’s the only thing I can think of.

Beth Phoenix defeated Mickie James

Mickey James put up one heck of a fight in this title shot, but Phoenix pulled out a nice victory. Santino interfered and James got thrown head first into the Ring post by Phoenix who then rolled her up for the win; a relatively short match up, but a good one none the less. I liked it overall, even if it wasn’t very long. These two are probably the best female wrestlers in WWE, and wish that all the divas took an example from these two. They aren’t as good as the TNA knockouts, but they are good none the less.

Chris Jericho defeated Shawn Michaels in a Last Man Standing Match

We get the final piece to the puzzle with this last man standing match! Jericho looked to be losing this match easily, with Shawn Michaels getting in most of the offense early on, however it was short lived as Jericho delivered the liontamer on top of a car! This match started tog et somewhat brutal, but didn’t involve a lot of plunder at all, it was just stiff shots and street fight style, with the two getting up nearly at the 10 counts. Shawn Michaels introduced a ladder into the match and Jericho immediately took advantage, making this really interesting. A great spot was definitely Michaels climbing to the top of a ladder, and jumping into an elbow drop onto Jericho through the announce table! I thought this was it, but then JBL interfered, or at least he tried. Jericho knocks out Michael’s with the world title belt to the head and it was all over, but not before he delivered a super kick to Chris Jericho! Jericho managed to get up though, but it was still over, Michaels couldn’t answer the ten count, and Jericho once again wins and this is the end of the Michaels Jericho feud.
