WWE Smackdown 11/14/08 Review and Results

Another smackdown rolls through the television, and it was recorded previously, lame huh? Big thins were promised, and we’ll see if it delivered!

We open with The Undertaker inside an oversized metal casket. I would know, I used to sell them. Jeff Hardy comes onto the screen and tells taker that he should worry about him.

Matt Hardy defeated Shelton Benjamin

This match was billed as champion vs. champion and that was suppose to get me to care. I only care about these types of matches when the titles are on the line. Why was Hogan vs. Warrior special? Champion vs. Champion and both titles were on the line right? OH man, my memory is slippin. Anyway, this match up is slow to start and Hardy was getting worked by Benjamin with a lot of rest holds and simple wrestling maneuvers; Hardy’s knee is messed up and it showed in this match up. I’m not sure if Hardy was just selling more, or if he legitimate injured. Benjamin made this match really good, I am gaining an all new trust in his wrestling ability. He’s doing great in there and Hardy was trying to hang on, limping all the time in this match up. I’m not sure what happened, but the crowd died in this match up and the Camera had some problems too, it seemed odd. Hardy wins with the twist of fate, but this match had some technical and crowd problems. I’m not sure what was wrong, if you noticed it, kudo’s for you. This match was ok, it seemed plagued by Hardy’s knee and the dead crowd, but otherwise it was an ok opener.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Carlito Colon

Carlito was looking good in this match against Kendrick, but Kendrick was taking liberties on Carlito, working over his leg and trying everything in his power to get things in his favor. This match had some good spots, the Carlito floating back elbow was awesome! Kendrick nearly losing this one was good, but of course Kendrick managed to pull off the victory in the end with little to no help from Ezekiel. Unless you count Primo getting killed outside the ring by Ezekiel; this match wasn’t anything that special, and overall, it was about as good as an old velocity match up. Kendrick wins clean? Awesome!

They had a contract signing. I hate these things, they are pointless; except in this one, when Jeff Hardy crashed the signing and jumped off the top rope and put Kozlov through a table! Then he tore up the wwe contract and threw it in the face of TRIPLE HUH (no I didn’t misspell it)

Kung Fu Naki defeated MVP

MVP once again loses a match. This time around he lost to Kung fu Naki in a fast match with really no major offense getting thrown in. It was a horrible example of a match. MVP was getting worked really bad. I hate this crap, MVP is getting buried for some reason and I wish I knew why.

The Great Khali kiss cam sucks. Seriuosly, this thing is the worst thing to happen to professional wrestling ever!

Michelle McCool defeated Maria

Maria has improved somewhat, but she’s not that good. She’s a little slow on the reaction and McCool has improved a little too. However, these two aren’t that great overall. They make a lot of minor mistakes and the wrestling looks sloppy to me. McCool won with an Ankle lock submission, prompting Festus to run down and try to attack McCool.

Jeff Hardy defeated Undertaker

This match could’ve gone either way. I’m not sure who I wanted to win this match more. Hardy opened up this match with everything but the kitchen sink. He was throwing himself from pillar to post trying to attack the Undertaker, but Taker caught him and threw him into the steel steps, and things weren’t going to well for hardy at the initial break. Lame…commercials. Then this thing took off full throttle folks! This match got EXTREME! PLUNDER ALERT! Big Show came in and started mopping up. Hardy delievered a HUGE leg drop over a ladder onto Taker for the pin, and it was over. Undertaker loses to Jeff Hardy seemingly clean! That’s right, Hardy wins!

Matt Hardy defeated Shelton Benjamin
The Brian Kendrick defeated Carlito Colon
Kung Fu Naki defeated MVP
Michelle McCool defeated Maria
Jeff Hardy defeated Undertaker

This edition of Smackdown wasn't all that great. That last match was cool though, I really liked that. The opener was good too, overall not the greatest night in wrestling but something tells me that the main event at Survivor Series will be a triple threat match...mark my words.
