WWE Smackdown 11/21/08 Review and Results

Just a heads up, I’m going to be gone next week in Moscow Idaho and will try my hardest to blog through Survivor series and the rest of the free television shows, but if I can not, I’ll make sure to tell you guys, instead of letting you guys drown. So without further ado, here we go, tonight’s smackdown live, well taped…from somewhere out there.

We open the show up with R Truth in the crowd rappin, and all I can say is “What’s up!!!” You know that’s addicting right? I know it is for me.

Matt Hardy & R Truth defeated Shelton Benjamin & Mark Henry

This match up was not half bad, but it seemed like overkill to see Hardy facing Mark Henry yet again. This seems so stupid to me, as the two have been battling everytime I see them on television and I’m getting sick of the match up. I’m also getting sick of the R Truth feud with Shelton Benjamin, they never seem to resolve that, and I believe they are trying to push the title onto R Truth down the road. We’ll see what goes down. This match started off a little slow, and that was ok, but it seemed like they were just setting up for the hot tag. The match took off towards the end, and R Truth landed his scissors kick for the win, meanwhile Hardy and Henry battled outside the ring. The match seemed a little too longer, and the crowd was quiet towards the end, but they cheered after it was all said and done. R Truth wins by pinning Shelton Benjamin!

Miz & Morrison defeated Jesse & Festus

This match up was all Festus with Morrison and Miz getting worked over. This match seemed very easy for the good guys, but Morrison hit the ringside bell and Festus became an average idiot, and he just let Miz and Morrison win. This match was a poor example of a wrestling match, and it’s a stupid gimmick if you ask me. It’s just stupid, I hated this match, and while I think Miz and Morrison aren’t half bad, they didn’t need to really cheat to win this one, they should be the better tag team. Oh well, things went their way this time.

Jeff Hardy defeated Triple H

Triple H and Jeff Hardy once again squared off. The last few times these guys met, Triple H beat him decisively. This time around Hardy was definitely doing everything he could to try to beat HHH. It looked as though HHH was once again going to hold the roster down, however, Hardy turned things around with a catapult and Russian leg sweep. We then cut to commercial. After the break, HHH turned things around and was swiftly holding down the roster by beating up Jeff Hardy easily. Of course, this wasn’t the end of Jeff Hardy, he hit two Whispers in the Wind and tried to mount an offensive comeback on Triple H, and was looking great towards the end of this match up. He didn’t seem winded or anything and Triple H looked like he finally was going to give the young guy the rub he needed. Kozlov ran down and interfered with the match, and Triple H was immediately rolled up for the loss. That’s right, Jeff Hardy wins via roll up over Triple HUH (no I didn’t misspell it). I guess Triple H is finally NOT holding down the roster any more huh? This match deserved more than what it got, lame.

The Brian Kendrick & Ezekiel Jackson defeated The Colon Brothers

Looks like Kendrick is back in tag team hell, as he teams up with Ezekiel to face the Colon brothers. Kendrick and Ezekiel beat the crap out of the Colon brothers, and it’s ridiculous. Seriously, these two just steam rolled through the tag team champions! The title’s mean nothing I guess, this is just stupid. Seriously, why would they randomly squash the champs? That is just so lame, I don’t like that crap, seriously, that’s so lame, let’s get some legit tag teams in there and have a real tag team division! This match up is not half bad, but come on, it’s just lame and well…who cares right?

James Mason defeated MVP

This was a jobber match. MVP wins one, but not a very impressive contender at all. But of course things aren’t going well for MVP and he loses after interference from the Great Khali, and it’s over…it’s all over.

The Bella Twins defeated Victoria & Natalya

This was stupid. The fans were not in on this at all. They were silent for most of the match. The match didn’t have that much wrestling and after a quick “switch” the twins one with a back roll up pin on Victoria. This was a short match and a stupid way to include the divas into the show. They should respect these women more than just to throw away a match. Plus, no championship defense, nor a mention that the belt exists at all and that’s stupid.

The final portion of Smackdown was not a match at all. It was just Big Show and Undertaker trying to make something out of nothing before their big match up this weekend. It’s not going to be the most triumphant of showdowns if you ask me, but what can ya do? With the other alternative being TNA, you have no choice. Oh well, things should be interesting, no?
