ECW 12/30/08 Results and Review

The show opens up with the Miz and Morrison with the Dirt Sheet. I admit, I like the dirt sheet, whenever I’m not dead tired. It is interesting to me that ECW opened this way, because it wasn’t wrestling related at all. It’s lame, seriously, this is stupid. The dirt sheet prompted Finlay and Hornswoggle to come to come out and defend himself, which was lame. This ended in a brawl and The Boogeyman showed up.

Matt Hardy defeated Mark Henry via Disqualification

I am almost sure that we’ve seen this match several times this year. I just know that we’ve seen this match more often than not. It’s interesting to note that the ECW show had this match second to the Dirth Sheet, which is odd, right? I don’t know, it just seems weird to me again, to have the last ECW show seem a little less than “kosher” if I can use that term. This match got better with time, it started out with a lot of rest holds from Mark Henry, but eventually had Matt Hardy putting on a show with all his popular moves, invigorating the crowd to get involved into the match. Henry managed to still kick out left and right, and even Tony Atlas got involved to no avail. The Twist of fate looked like it was going to connect, but Jack Swagger came into the ring and dropped Hardy, Costing Mark Henry the match!

Dj Gabriel defeated Paul Burchill

Dj Gabriel is the incarnation of Alex Wright. That’s right, it’s a new Alex Wright looking dude. Well, imagine if Tokyo magnum, Alex Wright and the disco Inferno had a love childe, you would get Dj Gabriel. This match up isn’t all that great at all. Gabriel is ok but Burchill hasn’t been relevant in a long time. I don’t like him in this weird gimmick he has. I liked him better as Pirate Paul Burchill. Katie Lee is kind of attractive, but not enough camera time was given to her. This was a rest hold classic, nothing major until the end which showed a little life from Dj. There was a picture perfect catapult into the turnbuckle, but that only prompted a huge lariat from Burchill. In the end though Dj proved to be too much for the former Pirate, and it was an all night dance party for Dj Gabriel and his manager.

The Miz and Morrison defeated Finlay & The Boogeyman

The Boogeyman and Finlay put together an interesting match against the tag champions, but overall this was shorter than it should have been. It was suppose to be a NO Disqualification match, but nothing crazy happened. The winners were Miz and Morrison yet again, but this match was lame. Boogeyman looked like he was going to win this one, and it just didn’t happen, Miz and Morrison get another win.

As a bonus, here’s a video of classic Alex Wright

WWE Raw 12/29/08 Results and Review HBK Idiot

Instead of getting a match opening this episode of Raw opens up with Rey Mysterio in the ring. He asks for a match with Shawn Michaels, and HBK accepts! However, JBL comes out and tells him that HBK no longer can answer for himself. Amidst Rey Mysterio talking and trying to get HBK to return back to the ring, Mike Knox came out and beats the crap out of him, proving yet again that the WWE hates Rey Mysterio. John Cena comes out to save him, and Knox runs away like a coward.

CM Punk defeated Cody Rhodes

Apparently, if Rhodes didn’t win he’d be out of the new Orton stable that is forming. Cm Punk was really putting on a desperate attempt to win against punk. Punk didn’t look so good. He had his arm taped up, and you could visibly see a bruise on his leg from previous matches where he got hit hard. Cm Punk launched himself head first onto the outside and hit his head really hard on the announce table, which was interesting to say the least. William Regal distracted Punk and Rhodes jumped into the ring for a count out victory. Not exactly the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. But I guess you just have to go with it.

Melina won a divas battle royal

The winner of this match would get a women’s title match. This match was short, and it was basically an over the top rope affair. Melina won after throwing out Mickie James. This match up was boring to say the least, nothing really happened until after the match was over. Melina and Beth Phoenix started fighting on the announce table, which was kind of cool. Beth Phoenix’s biggest fan jumped out of the audience and helped Beth out, but was thrown out by security.

Sim Snuka defeated Charlie “Superfly” Haas

Sim Snuka basically beat the crap out of Haas for coming out dressed as his father Jimmy Snuka. This match was a jobber show, and while Haas did get some minor offense in there, it wasn’t all that great at all. Snuka is better here than when he was part of that greaser gimmick on Smackdown, but not by much. Haas went for the superfly flash but man, Snuka put his knees up and Haas really took a beating, it was bad. He had to have all the wind knocked out of him. Snuka beats Haas yet again.

John Cena, Cryme Tyme, Rey Mysterio Jr, and Kofi Kingston defeated Kane, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz & John Morrison, and Mike Knox

This match started out with such great momentum. Kofi Kingston was putting on a show as usual, and this time he seemed to a have a little more control than usual. He was in there doing all the best high spots, and proving yet again that he very well maybe the next big thing. We then went to commercial, and you could telegraph what would happen on the return. Yep, Rey Mysterio was getting beat up by the monster team, and they were tagging in and out, basically proving my comments that the wwe hates rey mysterio. Mysterio hit the reverse hurricanrana on Morrison and the crowd went nuts! He then tagged in John Cena and the champ started to clean house, and this match just turned into high spot heaven. Cena was hitting anything that moved and for once the crowd was fully behind him. John Cena hit the FU on Mike Knox and then tagged in Rey Mysterio to finish him off! Mysterio hit the splash and it was all over!

Matt Hardy defeated Manu

Manu put in some great effort in this match up. He was giving it his all and Matt Hardy just proved to be too much for the second generation superstar. The match was alright for the most part, Hardy was taking a beating for the most part of this match up, and was on rails to lose this one but Manu got hit with the Twist of Fate out of nowhere and boom; Manu loses this one and is possibly going to get kicked out of Legacy, the new Orton stable.

Jbl defeated Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels

You couldn’t get this match to be any more emotional at the end. This match was good, it had a lot of moments with great position and strategy. I was hoping for Chris Jericho to win, but he was eliminated early on. Orton stuck around towards the end, but didn’t last through an HBK sweet chin music. It came down to JBL and HBK and JBL ordered his employee to lay down, but HBK couldn’t do it. This was full of tense moments and nothing happened, just the two people staring at each other and things were not looking good for the heart break kid. Shawn eventually, after a long drawn out pause, laid down for JBL. The last time I saw someone lay down for anyone was in WCW when Kevin Nash laid down for Hulk Hogan after the one finger of doom, that was classic. Or maybe Hogan laid down again in 2001, I don’t remember all that well, I think it was 2000 actually. Either way, Shawn Michaels couldn’t lay down so he asked for the Clothesline from Hell and JBL obliged with hellacious force knocking our HBK and wins a title shot thanks to HBK basically throwing the match. This was tense folks, I can’t explain it any better, it was very tense.

Overall a good raw, nothing too crazy, and just good overall wrestling, I liked it this week.

WWE Smackdown 12/26/08 Review and Results

The day after Christmas the WWE aired this edition of Smackdown and I was half asleep at first, but woke up enough to review what was going down, and this is how it went down.

Triple H defeated Chavo Guerrero

Chavo can never catch a break. It’s sad to note that this once again features Chavo getting owned by Triple H. Triple H won this match in an easy manner. He dissected Chavo into little pieces and just beat him, even with a valiant effort to revive the classic Guerrero chair distraction routine, it just wasn’t meant to be for the little guy and Triple H beat him easily. Chavo Guerrero is nothing but a jobber, and that’s a sad state to be in.

Shelton Benjamin defeated Shane Helms

I didn’t know how to call this match. The match was cool but Huricane seemed to be a little too over zealous in many ways and I didn’t trust that he was completely out of his ring rust. He went in there and really put the boots to Shelton Benjamin and it looked like the title was going to change hands tonight as Helms had the crowd behind him and was giving Shelton everything but the kitchen sink in terms of wrestling maneuvers. He even took to the air and was letting caution go to the wind in this match up, really forcing Shelton to try and combat things and defend his title forth right. Helms hit the Shining Wizard and I thought for sure this was over, but Benjamin still managed to kick out and take control. Things changed in the match when Shelton hit the Pay Dirt and it was over. Shelton Benjamin retains his title in this good title defense.

Carlito defeated The Brian Kendrick

What a fast paced match up! I was rooting for The Kendrick, but Carlito was too much for him this time. Carlito hit a bunch of good spots, including his back elbow which came across quite nicely. The Kendrick was going for his finisher but was countered into the back stabber and this match was over fast! Wow, fast match, and not that good, but The Kendrick loses in this match up, interesting to see where they are going with this.

Maryse defeated Michelle McCool (Maria was the special guest referee)

This match was very awkward in a lot of ways. The match didn’t really go that well, and overall it wasn’t that good of match. It really bored the crowd and myself with really lame moves, and the only real chemistry that existed was between Maria and McCool who are obviously going to start feuding in the near future. Maryse took the title from Mccool in this match up, and after winning walked away. Post match though, McCool beat the crap out of Maria for counting the three, and this bored me too, so who cares right? Yeah.

The Great Khali defeated MVP

It’s been a long time since MVP got a fair chance to win. He’s going out there and losing and there’s nothing he can do but just get paid. I guess it’s nice to be on the losing end, and still get a pay check, but this is getting ridiculous. MVP got killed, despite hitting his drive by kick. Khali has new music and looked good out there, no kiss cam, just straight business, this match was short and swift. Post match, Kennedy came out to do his, well, whatever it is he does out there for no apparent reason.

Vladimir Kozlov defeated Jimmy Wang Yang

I didn’t even know that Yang was still employed by the wwe. It’s sad to see a once promising cruiserweight get dismantled in such an easy fashion. It’s funny to me to see Kozlov out there fighting some random jobber. I hope that Kozlov gets the title sooner than later, so at least I can see some good matches or defenses or attempts. So far this monster gimmick isn’t working out, I mean he’s wrestling Jimmy Wang Yang? Come on man, come on!

Jeff hardy defeated The Big Show via countout

The Big Show dominated the majority of this match. I hate when the champion looks bad, and this really made Jeff Hardy look bad. He didn’t get any offense early on, and Show really proved that he was way bigger and badder than the newly crowned champion. Jeff Hardy was wrestling a very slow, steady match, unlike his previous endeavors. I’m not sure why this match was booked the way it was, but this match was boring for the most part. Big Show really did put a hurting on Jeff Hardy, and Show looked poised to win this match. The Big Show kicking out of the swanton really made me wonder why the wwe feels it necessary to bury the champion. Hardy did manage to fight his way back into this match up, but the damage to his credibility was already done. After a dominating match up featuring the Big Show, Hardy managed to get Big Show counted out for the victory. What a lame match, this was upsetting to me. I wanted to go to bed, I should have.

TNA Impact 12/25/08 Results and Review Christmas Edition

I can’t believe TNA Impact ran a show on Christmas. This might be the worst move that TNA has done in a long time, but whatever, here is a review and results for TNA’S Christmas Day show.

Chris Sabin defeated Kiyoshi

This match was ok at best, Sabin pulled out quite the victory over Kiyoshi, who reminds me a lot of the Great Muta. This match was not as good as the debut we saw last week, but Sabin held his own and won the match with the Cradleshock.

Post match Shane the ref was getting punked out by Sheik Abdul Bashir, only to prompt Suicide to come down into the ring and change things up.

Eric Young vs. Alex Shelley

It was an hour into the show when this second match started. This match began in the backstage area where Shelley was talking smack about Eric Young and the two ended up fighting into the ring, and I’m not sure what happened. I guess this wasn’t the match? It was just a brawl for no reason? That means that TNA only had one match in 1 hour! What a piece of crap wrestling show, this is the worst thing that could ever happen in regards to wrestling, what a piece of trash. This made me mad.

Booker T & Scott Steiner vs. Aj Styles & Brother Devon (no contest)

This match started at around 10:05 according to my clock and I was getting fed up with tna altogether. I wasn’t interested in this match up at all, but I always enjoy Aj Styles, so I gave it a chance. This match was dominated by the frontline, each one giving some tough shots to Steiner. Steiner however did have some excellent suplexes, but overall this match started out one sided and eventually evened out with the main event mafia taking over midway. After the commercial break the announce team informs us that this match is now a no contest because the four men have now spilled to outside the ring and into the crowd and parking lot! This broke out into a huge brawl back into the ring, and even prompted Mick Foley to come out and get physically involved! That’s right, Foley was in there and out came Socko! That’s right, Foley was out there beating the hell out of the main event mafia, insane indeed.

ODB, Roxxy, Christy Hemme, and Taylor Wilde defeated Raisha Saeed, Sojourner Bolt, Awesome Kong, and Rhaka Khan

The women of tna dressed in their most festive outfits fought each other in a tag team match up that featured all the women in the ring at the same time. This match really lost control fast and the ref had a hard time controlling the action, but it was alright, because the hard camera stayed in position and you saw the better parts of this match up. Eventually things spilled out to the outside of the ring and there was a great high spot from Taylor Wilde, creating an awesome reaction and great position for the knockouts to prove yet again that they are ten times better than the wwe divas! The match came down to Taylor Wilde scoring the pin for her team and once again proving that the TNA knockouts are 100 billion times better than anything that wwe is doing right now with their women’s division.

Kurt Angle vs. Rhino (No Contest)

This was a rematch from the ppv, which makes me want to never ever get another TNA ppv in my lifetime. Seriously, how many times are wrestling companies going to give us these matches free, after the fact? This is stupid. Anyways, this match up was standard to say the least. Angle really was lazy out there, focusing more on trying to antagonize Jeff Jarrett, whom was out at ringside, including spitting in his face! Kurt Angle was trying to draw as much heat as he could, meanwhile Rhino was chasing the former champ to try and get this match over with. If you’ve seen one Kurt Angle match you’ve seen them all, as this match really didn’t poise a lot of new combat for either wrestler involved. This match was interesting to me on many levels, but mostly because I had nothing better to do on my Christmas night, as I had to work in the morning and it doesn’t matter to me if I’m tired the next day. Kurt Angle got the ankle lock submission late in the match, in the middle of the ring, and things looked bad but Angle was sent to the floor right by Double J, and this caused Angle to slap Jeff Jarrett!

This match was thrown out as Jeff Jarrett interfered and attacked Kurt Angle. The backstage area cleared out and the two were separated. This was ok for all intents and purposes but I wasn’t truly convinced. BG James was sucker punched by Angle at the end, and it was all over. I’m tired.

Chris Sabin defeated Kiyoshi
Eric Young vs. Alex Shelley (non match, brawl)
Booker T & Scott Steiner vs. Aj Styles & Brother Devon (no contest)

WWE Raw 12/22/08 Review and Results

Here we go, we start the show with Santino and it’s hilarious, great intro, awesome show, I’m juiced on caffeine.

Shawn Michaels defeated Kane

This would have been a ppv match up few years back, but now several years after both wrestlers are in their prime, they are the curtain jerkers on this edition of Raw. This match was very short and really didn’t have a whole lot to offer in terms of good wrestling. There were a few counters but overall nothing crazy, your standard Kane match here. HBK looked really strong upon applying the crippler crossface, and eventually landed Sweet Chin Music for the win against the big read machine Kane.

Kofi Kingston defeated Manu

Kingston is way too sloppy in the ring, he was missing a lot of steps, over working and moving way too fast. Manu looked poised to capitalize on a mistake as he caught Kofi coming off the top rope and was set to deliver a Samoan drop, but what happened next was shocking as Kofi pulled Manu over for a three count!

Mickie James and Melina defeated Jillian and Layla

Once again, your standard Divas match up. There were a lot of quick spots in here, but overall it wasn’t all that great. It’s just boring to me really. Mickie James’s leg was isolated but overall this match up had nothing to offer. Unless you’re looking for some good eye candy, which you had a little bit, but not much with Melina’s stupid looking outfit. What a horrible match, the more I think about the more I hate the wwe divas.

JBL defeated Rey Mysterio Jr.

I’m not really too excited with the preliminary matches to see who is going to the Rumble or whatever they are doing with these matches. They just seem boring to me. Case in point this match up between JBL and Mysterio. These two have had a storied past and it just isn’t all that great to me. JBL seemed to have scouted Mysterio well and Mysterio seems to be losing steam in his career, he’s gotta stop fighting the bigger man. I hope that the wwe will once again make a cruiserweight division, because Rey can’t possibly be risking his life with power moves from guys that obviously don’t care for his well beling, like JBL. This match was given a whole lot of time, and HBK saved the day as Rey Mysterio seemed poised on winning this match up. HBK caused Mysterio the match up, which was odd, considering the track record with wwe and their interference clauses. Oh well, JBL wins.

Chris Jericho defeated Cm Punk

This match had my attention, as the two are my personal favorites in the WWE riht now. Chris Jericho is just amazing still, he’s got so much experience in the ring, and he never seems to be too jacked or on the juice. Cm Punk also is good and he hasn’t lost a step since moving into the wwe style of wrestling, as Jericho complimented his moves well, countering some, and taking some stiff kicks to the body and even the head. This match turned into a war after a stiff kick to the head of Jericho, and the Canadian fans were 100% behind Chris Jericho! The beginning of the end happened with a running bulldog from Jericho, and all signs pointed to the Lionsault, but was countered right into the GTS and Jericho countered with THE WALLS OF JERICHO! Cm punk was in the Walls for a very long time, and eventually got out of them, while Jericho looked poised to get them back on, Punk hit him with a high knee and this match was really looking like ppv quality! Cm Punk leaped off the top rope and Jericho caught him in mid-air for THE CODEBREAKER and Jericho wins this match clean! Amazing match, three to four stars folks, this ending was insane; Codebreaker to Cm Punk whom was coming off the top rope!

Randy Orton, Jbl, Shawn Michaels, and Chris Jericho will meet in a fatal fourway next week, the winner gets John Cena for the belt at the Royal Rumble.

John Cena and Trish Stratus defeated Santino and Beth Phoenix

This match was awesome, only because Trish Stratus hasn’t missed a step! She’s thinner and she’s just as good in ring. She’s awesome! I marked out like a school girl when she came out, and she did a great job! Great stuff, oh man, great stuff, even if I don’t like Cena all that much. John Cena is still halfway over, but he needs a heel turn bad.

WWE Tribute To the Troops 12/20/08 Results and Review

This is the greatest thing that the WWE does every year. I’m glad to support WWE and that they support The Troops!

Jeff Hardy, Cm Punk, and R-Truth defeated JBL, John Morrison, and The Miz

If you’re a fan of wwe, you’ve already seen this match before. The normal spots were done, and the bad guys really focused on Punk, isolating him in the match up. Hardy was the one that really shined, as he is the champion now, and he really pushed his high spots, making the crowd cheer like crazy! The match ended with a swanton bomb on JBL and the pinfall victory was his. Good overall match because the troops are so into these guys, it’s so cool.

John Cena, Rey Mysterio Jr. and Batista defeated The Big Show, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho

The troops are one hundred percent behind John Cena in this match. Batista and Orton started this one, and I must say that Orton is really skinny, skinnier than he’s ever been. A scuffle between the heels caused Big Show to basically walk out on his team, after knocking out Jericho and Orton. This caused John Cena to tag in and get the troops riled up with several of his greatest and best moves. The end came with a dual FU and a Batista Bomb! That’s right, both men delivered their finishers at the same time, and picked up the win!

WWE Smackdown 12/19/08 Results and Review

I almost forgot that the WWE aired Smackdown earlier on Fridays, which is lame. I barely got in on time to catch it, but here it goes, SMACKDOWN!

R-Truth & Hurricane Helms defeated United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Montel Vontavious Porter (Tag Team Match)

Standard tag team match up with the good guys catching a break. MVP is still on a losing streak and he’s causing anyone around him to lose matches, just ask Shelton Benjamin. When’s the next time Shelton Benjamin going to win a match up? It’s been a long time since he’s made that title of his legitimate. When is Hurricane or R-Truth going to get the championship belt? We’ll be waiting a while, I can feel it, unless someone dros the belts at the Rumble, I’m not sure though.
World Tag Team Champion John Morrison defeated Festus

This was a throwaway match up. I can’t stand these single matches featuring tag team specialists. This match sucked, standard big man match with some funny moments, but overall not that great. Jesse got to the bell early on, and that was great, good psychology that’s for sure. It didn’t work out in the end though.

Edge defeated ECW Champion Matt Hardy (Non-title)

This was alright, the two have battled it out several times before and this match was ok. The two work well in the ring together, but come on, you knew what was going to happen. Edge dominated a good amount of this match up, and eventually got the win. Did you expect anything else? The Ecw champion sucks now, because he is always made to look really weak.

Ezekiel Jackson defeated WWE Tag Team Champion Carlito

Another great befalling to the Colon’s. Yep, the Colon’s are on their way down and here’s another example. I’m not sure why Smackdown has both the WWE Tag Team titles and the World Tag Team titles on the same show, at least technically. This is weird, seriously, this is dumb, but I guess we’re going to see The Kendrick and Ezekiel with the belts? I’m not sure where they are going with these two, but I’m almost positive that Kendrick didn’t want to be locked into a tag team scene, which is going to be the case if they keep wrestling the tag champs individually.

Maryse defeated Maria (Maryse earns Divas Championship Match)

I like Maryse’s body, but her matches? Lame. This match wasn’t all that great, and I don’t know why I expect anything out of Maria. This match was lame, and it was short. I guess that means it was half good, right? The two divas did try hard to make this match credible, but overall, they still need work. Maybe Finlay can go back to helping the divas get more credible outputs.

WWE Champion Jeff Hardy defeated Vladimir Kozlov (DQ) (Non-title)

Why are they giving us his for free n television? I’m not sure what’s going on here, but the match was a preview to what’s most likely going to be a long winded feud, if they keep it up. I’m not sure why Kozlov isn’t on top again, it seems that he’s always chasing the title, and while I might be interested in this whole thing, I doubt anyone else is going to care too much, and that’s a shame. Hardy wins, and now he too is the immortal champion, and I hate when this happens, sorry. Edge cost Kozlov the victory, but he didn't mind, this was an odd ending. Triple H face again? whatever.

Tna Impact 12/18/08 Review and Results Main Event Massacre

TNA Impact was once again mediocre, but it had some shining spots, especially with some new blood coming in from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Rhino defeated Lance Rock

There was no possible way that Lance Rock was going to beat Rhino. Rhino basically took a few shots from Lance Rock then gored him for the easy win. I hate these jobber style matches, it just shows that the TNA writers are lazy.

Chris Sabin defeated Sonjay Dutt

Overall another ok match up. Sonjay was in a lot of control over this match up and Sabin looked really weak, however there was a Sabin comeback towards the end of this match which made the fans start to cheer a little and things were looking great for him. The match went back to Dutt’s favor as he countered a flurry of offense from Sabin, but Sabin managed to turn things around and deliver the Cradle Shock, to move forward in the x-division tournament.

Booker T & Scott Steiner defeated Abyss and Matt Morgan

I’m tired of seeing Morgan and Abyss together. These two idiots are terrible, and they are so slow in there. Tie in a very slow Scott Steiner and we have a boredom movement of epic proportions. This match up was ok at best, Morgan pulled most of the weight early on and Abyss came in to mix things up. The match of course went to plunder with Booker T running in with a lead pipe, knocking out Morgan and then getting the victory after a scissor’s kick. This is ridiculous, Abyss sucks, expect a Matt Morgan heel turn on Abyss sooner than later.

Kiyoshi defeated Consequences Creed

Kiyoshi put on a clinic, from New Japan, he came out and put Creed through the ringer, and really impressed me completely. He really reminded me of The Great Muta as he was pushing through some great moves out there, and with an impressive debut he defeated Creed and moved on in the x-division tournament.

Christy Hemme & ODB defeated Raisha Saeed & Raka Khan

Apparently this was some sort of street fight or something, I wasn’t paying attention. Christy Hemme got the pin with a one legged fire crotch guillotine, and it was over. It was a fast, jobber style match. No plunder was introduced and that was that. A boring knockouts match, I never thought I’d say that.

Samoa Joe & Aj Styles defeated Sting & Kevin Nash

A tag team steel cage match! This is awesome! These guys really put on a show, but it was too short, and it was lame. I wanted this match to last a lot longer and have more blood, but it was relatively slow and easy for the good guys.
The post match effort was good, but overall this match blew chunk. Can I say that? I guess.

WWE Armageddon 2008 Results and Review

I had to purchase the last WWE ppv of the year, as I couldn’t help it, and was hoping for greatness, and here is how WWE decided to end their ppv year:

Vladimir Kozlov defeated Matt Hardy

Kozlov is being wasted s the opener to this last ever ppv of 2008 and the wasn’t too bad. The match was heavily one sided for the most part, Kozlov was the clear favorite to win, if not by the fans, by the backstage folks. This match up was entertaining as well, looking to see if Hardy could match Kozlov’s strength. Hardy hit the ring post with his head, and Kozlov hit spinebuster chokeslam combination and defeats Matt Hardy! Sad. Kozlov wins again and we’re probably looking at the next champion, if not at least a secondary title holder.

Cm Punk defeated Rey Mystrio Jr.

This match started off really slow, both men were putting each other through a series of chain wrestling moves, which wasn’t half bad, but the crowd wasn’t really into it. The match really started going great towards the end as each person put together some great counters to each others finishers, and both men had busted noses when it was all said and done. Rey Mysterio landed nose first into Cm Punk’s knee and it was bad, the best GTS I’ve ever seen, and a well deserved victory, an amazing match at the finish. Wow, I loved this one, and now Punk is going on to fight William Regal, good stuff here folks, I liked it.

Finlay defeated Mark Henry in a Belfast brawl

Here is your standard Street Fight and it was interesting to say the least. Mark Henry dominated the match early on, and then the plunder came into the match up and the ring looked like he old ECW days. Trash cans all over the floor, and weapons left to right, with a finale of Hornswoggle helping out Finlay to win the match up. This match wasn’t too crazy in the end and Finlay won with a little help, and that was all. A forgettable street fight of sorts, as it didn’t really get too crazy or emphatic.

Batista defeated Randy Orton

Orton and Batista put on the best match they could, as the two really got into a fight over the rest holds. Batista was doing well enough that Orton wasn’t dominating this match up completely, but it was the younger star that was hitting heavy amidst an obviously fatigued Batista. Orton looked to be on the road to win this one, but one quick mistake and Batista dropped Orton on his head with the Batista bomb for win! Batista defeated Randy Orton in this intense match up that left Batista looking like the defeated man not Orton.

Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, and Maria defeated Victoria, Jillian, Natalya, and Maryse

This was weird to me. But oh well, whatever, the divas all looked great in their Christmas outfits, but I’d rather see good wrestling than eye candy. Ths was a terrible website, and the end came with Michelle McCool giving her finisher to Jillian and it was all over. It was ok at best. This was boring to me, but the girls looked amazing.

John Cena defeated Chris Jericho

This is about a good of a match as you’re going to get out of John Cena. Jericho really pushed him, and he really did a lot to maintain his position in this match as he really rocked Jericho through a lot of power spots, counters, and overall fast paced wrestling moments. Jericho looked poised to win with the code breaker, the walls of Jericho and even the Lionsault but it was Cena in the end with a STFU to get the win over an over zealous Chris Jericho. John Cena, much to the dismay of a lot of adult wwe fans, wins the match and holds on to the title yet again.

Jeff Hardy defeated Edge and Triple H in the wwe championship match

This match was all over the place, and I thought for sure Triple H would find a way to hold down the roster, but alas, when the dust settled it wasn’t so. This match was incredible, there were a lot of near falls a lot of back and forth and when it was all said and done Jeff Hardy defeated both men to win the wwe title! That’s right, Jeff Hardy defeated everyone, even after Kozlov interfered, Matt Hardy interfered, and Edge and Triple H both hit their finishers, somehow, out of nowhere Jeff Hardy landed the swanton for the win! We have a new champion and it’s JEFF HARDY!

WWE Smackdown 12/12/08 the one before Armageddon

The show kicks off with Jeff Hardy attacking Triple H! They are brawling and Chavo is sent to stop them from fighting, but Triple H knocks him out and Hardy and Triple H are brawling like crazy, and no one is stopping them, but then the ref’s come in to try and break them up.

R Truth defeated MVP

MVP has really been on someone’s bad side because he hasn’t gotten a break in a long long time. This match went by somewhat slower than I wished, as the crowd was really taken out of this one, but on the flipside, MVP was looking more like a serious wrestler, using wear down holds on R Truth to make sure his offense wasn’t too much. But R Truth managed to win this one with a roll up, proving once again that MVP pissed off the wrong person. MVP got on the mic after the match and that prompted Mr. Kennedy to come out and cut a program, weird.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Primo Colon

This match was interesting, two young guns wrestling because Kendrick and Ezekiel beat the brothers Colon once, and now they caught Kendrick hitting on the twins backstage. Primo is a good fit in this match as he counters Kendrick’s style quite nicely. Kendrick is great as the cocky heel and he play it up so well. Kendrick really took some punishment in this match at the hands of Primo, and things were looking like it was all Primo, but of course Ezekiel couldn’t help but get involved, causing a distraction and a kick later Primo loses to Kendrick. The kid is great, Kendrick wins again!

Hurricane Helms defeated Shelton Benjamin

The U.S Champion Shelton Benjamin really had his hands full with the returning Helms, and I was worried that they were just going to bury Helms now that he’s back. Benjamin really focused on Helm’s neck. A great shot was Benjamin hitting a dropkick while Helms was in mid air! Helms landed on his neck then a short dropkick sent him neck first into the ringside guard rail, and Benjamin continued his attack on the formerly injured neck of Helms. The rest of the match was a comeback attempt by Helms, and after Benjamin missed his jump on to the third rope, Helms hit a very weak cross body block and go the pin! Helms once again wins on wwe television, and he’s doing well since coming back. I like him, I admit it.

The Great Khali defeated Hawkins and Ryder

This was a throwaway handicap match. Ryder and Hawkins basically got killed by Khali, and that’s all I can and will say about this match.

The Bella Twins defeated Maryse & Natalya

I’m a sucker for Maryse, she’s kind of hot. I don’t know what it is about her, but she looks hot to me. So this match got a little more attention than usual. She’s not THAT good of a wrestler and Natalya isn’t that hot to me, but the heel side of this equation was way better than the face’s. The twins basically got beat for the most part, and Maryse did a lot of damage with the camel clutch, meanwhile Natalya landed a lot of power moves. The twins won this match, which was weird, considering they had no offense in this match up. I liked Maryse, that’s about it.

Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy (no contest)

I wasn’t sure who was going to win this match up at all. The match was about as good as you’re going to get from these two. These guys put on a ppv caliber match, which is great considering that Triple H has been known not to work as many dates as some other champions. However, he’s chasing the title, so maybe that’s why he’s wrestling so much on free television. Jeff Hardy is a machine and he was just going through and through with Triple H, Triple H was looking tired towards the end of this match up, but I liked it more than usual. Jeff Hardy hit the Whisper in the Wind, and I thought it was over, but Hardy didn’t get the cover right away, therefore Triple H kicked out and this match was getting really good, the crowd going nuts, and myself really not sure where it was going, until Hardy made a third and final comeback. Hardy then went to the top rope for the Swanton Bomb but there was no way this match was going to end this way, or was it? He missed the Swanton! Then of course we get the wwe throwing out the match by having Edge run in and spear Triple H causing the end of the match; lame.

Tna Impact 12/11/08 Angle Gets Jarrett Review and Results

I’m tired again and I don’t want to watch Tna, but I somehow make it through.

The opening of the show is just the Main Event Mafia and the TNA Originals arguing about random crap. They also announce an x-division tournament to determine a new –division champion, since they have once again stripped Eric Young of the title.

Eric Young defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir

The first round of the tournament started with the same match we saw the last two ppv’s. The two put together a decent, although very short match. The match had no major highlights except for the Eric Young suplex roll up pinfall victory. No new ref dealings, but it was all good. Quick match, worthy of wwe velocity or something, nothing too special, and if you missed it, it wasn’t all that great. They don’t let the x-division shine on free television, where they should.

Alex Shelley defeated Black Machismo Jay Lethal

This match should have been way better, considering what went down at the ppv, but for whatever reasons, it just didn’t happen the way I expected. Once again a short, quick spot match up. The best part was definitely Jay Lethal jumping out of the ring with a suicide dive on Sabin! Sabin wasn’t even paying too much attention and it looked surprising. Shelley won a rather simple and easy match up to move on in the tournament.

James Storm defeated Abyss in a beer on a pole match

This was the worst gimmick on a pole match I’ve seen in a long time. They finally made things idiotic, a beer on a pole match? Seriously? What the heck guys? FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS! Seriously, FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS! This match was lame, Abyss hit the Black Hole Slam but didn’t go for the pin. Matt Morgan ran down to help, but Bobby Roode nearly knocked out Abyss with a chair, and James Storm wins this very stupid gimmick match up.

They opened up the stupid gimmick cases.

Hernandez case #4 got him: World Title shot!
Curry Man case #3 got him: Fired!
Homicide case #1 got him: X-Division Title Shot!

I knew they were going to fire Curry man. So now Christopher Daniels can be Suicide right? I don’t know.

Christy Hemme defeated Sojourner Bolt

I wasn’t surprised by this. Sojourner Bolt gave a good challenge, then the heel turn happened. Not bad. Awesome Kong might have a new ally here. Hemme freaked out after the match and attacked her opponent. This match wasn’t too memorable at all, at least I didn’t think so.

Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Kurt Angle fought to a no contest

This match was stupid to. Bubba Ray hasn’t been a relevant singles wrestler since his lonely run in WWE where he lost a lot of weight. This turned into an ECW reminder with Bubba Ray cut wide open and the two wrestlers fighting in the back stage area. This was definitely a throwback for me, because this used to happen all the time on ECW tv. Scott Steiner hit Bubba Ray Dudley with a pipe and the rest of the mafia beat him down. Lame.

WWE Raw 12/9/08 Slammy Awards Review and Results

I didn’t think I’d make it to see this show, but after a quick shower, I’m set to review the next three hours of Raw with full intensity! I’m tired though, and I might miss a few things here and there, who knows what’s up.

We opened the show with the tag team of the year award going to: The Miz & John Morrison

CM Punk defeated John Morrison in an intercontinental championship tournament semi-final

Morrison and Punk wrestled in the latest match up for the Intercontinental Championship tournament. Punk really made things interesting within minutes throwing himself off the middle rope and nearly knocked himself out. Hurricanrana off the top rope was insane! Cm Punk nearly shattered his leg when he landed, but he delivered one hell of a move! I was marking out huge for this match! Punk hit the high knee, but Morrison hit a Russian leg sweep and turned the tide a little bit. Punk was really favoring his leg in this match up, after landing hard from the top rope. Morrison countered the GTS into a roll up, but then immediately walked into a high kick to the head, Punk went for the GTS one more time and hit Morrison with it! Morrison loses to Punk and CM Punk advances in the tournament!

Best finishing maneuver of 2008 slammy award went to: Evan Bourne’s Shooting Star Press

MVC (Charlie Haas) defeated MVP

This was hilarious to say the least. Charlie Haas looked amazing as MVC and he really made it look good, looking exactly like MVP. I thought for sure MVP would win this one, but apparently it wasn’t his night. MVC defeated MVP after MVP missed his running leg kick. This was a short non memorable match. MVP is still on that losing streak, sadly.

The slammy for most extreme moment went to: Jeff Hardy’s dive off the titantron

Chris Jericho defeated Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho squared off in this match up, which was interesting. Jericho really looked great against Hardy, even though Hardy was the main fan favorite of this match up. Jericho was ready to win this with the Walls of Jericho, but Hardy kept getting out of it. Jericho managed to hit the Code Breaker and this match was over. Jericho defeated Jeff Hardy clean!

The Slammy for couple of the year went to: Vickie Guerrero and Edge

Finlay defeated Santino

Finlay beat Santino easily. Santino didn’t stand a whole lot in this match up, Finlay looked amazing against him. Santino is still way over, even if he loses and doesn’t do a whole lot of wrestling, which is great in these modern times.

The Slammy for WWE Diva of the year went to: Beth Phoenix

The slammy for OMG moment of year went to: CM Punk for cashing in money in the bank and winning the title

Rey Mysterio defeated Kofi Kingston in an Intercontinental championship semi-final

Kofi Kingston stood out in this match against Rey Mysterio. Mysterio was doing his best to try and combat the onslaught of high flying maneuvers that Kofi is known for, but Kofi also tried to do some technical wrestling, isolating Mysterio’s arm. This match had a lot of counters, and it involved Mysterio and Kofi both missing key drop kicks and other maneuvers that they do. This was incredible, and Rey Mysterio was really moving fast in this match up and eventually beat Kofi Kingston with a back roll up out of nowhere!

The slammy for match of the year went to: Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair WM 24

I don’t believe that, that match sucked!

Cody Rhodes, Manu, & Randy Orton defeated Batista & Triple H

I thought this match was dumb. I hate handicap matches where the two good guys are facing three guys. The only good that can come of this is the heels win and gain a hold on their next match up. However, if the good guys win then the bad guys look stupid for not being able to win as a team, which should never happen. There is no way that two regular dudes should beat three guys, but alas, this is pro wrestling after all. The expected spots happened here but after the dust settled from the all out brawl, Randy Orton swooped in and defeated Batista and Triple H! Orton jumps in hits the RKO and it was all over from there.

The Slammy for the most “Damn” moment of the year went to: The Khali Kiss Cam

Dolph Ziggler defeated R. Truth via countout

What in the world? R Truth against Ziggler? Alright, whatever. Ziggler was all over Truth, which is insane! He was doing great work in there for once, and I like his boots, they remind me of The Brain Busters. Truth took a nasty spill in the ring towards the ropes, and he wasn’t’ the same for the rest of the match up, it did look bad, like it knocked the wind out of him. This match was quite impressive, honestly, I was really impressed with how this match went, including Truth’s Irish whip onto Ziggler and Ziggler selling it like Bret Hart! Truth went over the top rope and nearly knocked out Ziggler when hitting him in the face! It looked great, these two really did some work for once. Ziggler hit Truth with a kick to the face and beat the 10 count for the win.

The Slammy for Superstar of the year went to: Chris Jericho

John Cena vs. Edge (no contest)

We saw this match one million times a couple of years back. It seemed like these two wrestled every week and every ppv for at least 6 months or so. Whatever the case is, this match was halfway decent, as the two wrestlers know each other quite well in the ring and out. This match broke down into a melee when Chris Jericho tried to interfere in the match. Cena jumped out and attacked him instead, the bell rang fast, and every main eventer ran down. The last man standing in the ring, once again holding down the roster, was none other than Triple H. Hardy ran the safety railings and BOOOM hit Edge with a huge drop kick. The match, I presume was thrown out, no official winner or loser was announced.

Overall a good night of wrestling, and I personally wouldn’t mind 3 hours of raw each week, but that’s just me. Lots went down on this night, and this weekend is Armageddon! So watch out for that. I’m not 100% sure I’ll return for ECW tomorrow, but I’ll try, if not, I’ll definitely be back for TNA Impact this week! OH and please check out the links on the sidebar and if you’re shopping on amazon, click our banners, it helps me keep getting cable and ppv’s…I’m going broke trying to cover all the wrestling bases, so help out a brotha, please.

Tna Final Resolution 2008 Revew and Results

I was really dreading this one, but since I’m going to be absent for the next couple of days, I’m going to be reviewing yet another TNA PPV, and here it is Final Resolution 2008.

Cute Kip, Sonjay Dutt, Some Dude From The Motor City Machine Guns, BG James, Jay Lethal, Consequences Creeds, Curry Man, Hernandez, Homicide, Shark Boy wrestled in a Fest or Fired match.

This match sucks. I hate the gimmick, I hate how people are just fighting each other for the briefcases. Last year, they had this and it was so lame and so convoluted, and made me hate wrestling in a lot of ways. My favorite part of the match was the Curry Man moves. It seemed like everyone got to hit their favorite spot, including LAX. Hernandez was launching people out of the ring like hot potatoes! It was kind of cool. There was just too much going on for my tastes. Curry Man gets case #3 and then dives onto the floor with NO ONE to catch him! Homicide got briefcase #1! Honestly, some of these mid carders are no no name wrestlers to me, I have no idea who some of them are. I know some of them…most of them? I don’t know. Some of these guys haven’t been on Impact in a while. Jay Lethal jumped in and took a briefcase, briefcase #2! The Motor City Machine Guns were left standing in the ring, without a case and they were upset that Jay Lethal jacked them for the case. This is the most convoluted match in the history of professional wrestling.

Curry Man pulled Case #3
Homicide pulled Case #4
Jay Lethal pulled case #2
Hernandez pulled case #1

One case was going to be opened tonight, and that case was number 2 so Jay Lethal opened his briefcase revealing: Jay Lethal will receive a tag team title shot! WTF? This is so stupid, so convoluted, I hate this match, FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS!

ODB, Roxxi, and Taylor Wilde defeated Sharmell and The Beautiful People

The knockouts were on point as usual. I could see a ppv dedicated to the woman’s championsip, as these girls really put it all out there. They are better wrestlers than lookers, that’s for sure, however the beautiful people do have that porno starlet quality to them. Whatever the case is, these chicks got it going on. They can wrestle really well, and I enjoyed this match, and if you’ve seen the impact matches featuring these women, you’ll have enjoyed this one. It’s longer than impact, and they really o a good job. I really liked Roxxi in this match up, she showed she can wrestle and be extreme and her tag team maneuvers with Taylor Wilde really proved to be a great and unique way to use them together. Sharmell wasn’t in there for a lot of the match, and you could tell she was scared as ODB was tagged in. Sharmell finally got tagged in and ODB was ready to kill her but Cute Kip interfered and ODB cased Sharmell straight to the back of the arena. Taylor Wilde picked up the win for her team with a cross body block off the top rope!

Eric Young defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir for the x-division championship

The X-Division title match was on the line in this one. First things first, he ref that screwed things up the last time is once again here, and this is lame. However, the two put on a half way decent match up. WWE could take notes on this, as the cruiserweights can really put on some good classic wrestling if they are given some time to wrestle. Bashir did put in a lot of rest holds, but overall, he made it look good with Eric Young putting in some great counter moves. Eric Young’s top rope elbow drop was amazing! Picture perfect, and nearly like the classic Macho Man elbow drops that I remembered as a kid. Lots of near falls followed with neither opponent getting an edge over the other. Eric Young wins this one and the x-division title!

Post match, Bashir attacked the ref and that prompted the ref to go nuts again. The ref got busted wide open and was wobbly during this one, and Bashir really beat the hell out of him! I can’t believe no one came to the rescue of the ref, who was really paying for any previous encounters he might have had with Bashir.

Christy Hemme defeated Awesome Kong via disqualification

This match has been boiling for a while, but I was under the impression that Hemme had a battle with the beautiful people? Maybe not; this match was for the knockouts title, it was definitely better than any divas match I’ve seen this year. Hemme was fearless in this match, jumping off the top rope onto kong, and really giving Kong a run for her money. Hemme had this sewn up for the win but Raesha Saeed pulled Hemme out of the ring during her pin attempt, then Rhaka Khan was out there trying to fight her, and Hemme basically was fighting three women to try and win this match up against Awesome Kong. Kong went nuts and threw the referee down, and then went on to beat th living crap out of Hemme, until TNA officials came running in and separated the two knockouts.

Beer Money Inc defeated Matt Morgan & Abyss

The tag team championship titles were on the line for this match up and things could get very good for Matt Morgan and Abyss, but I had my doubts going into this match up. Matt Morgan and Abyss were looking way too dominant for Beer Money and Beer Money was nearly walking out of the match up, and of course like in all ppv matches the stipulations changed and if they lost the match via count out they would lose the titles. So they were forced to come back. Beer Money turned things back around again, and they were looking like the champs as they systematically tried to dissect Matt Morgan working over his limbs with ease. That is until Morgan got his second wind, and Abyss got tagged in! He was cleaning house with every single big move he has in his arsenal. But the guys in beer money gave him a good match up. Abyss stole the beer bottle from Beer Money and was ready to strike, but was distracted long enough for one of the members of Beer Money to grab some brass knuckles and knock out abyss! Beer Money keeps their titles with one of the oldest tricks in the book! FINALLY a GOOD tag team! Beer Money is a perfect example of a good tag team in modern day professional wrestling.

Suicide made his in ring debut. Full mask and body covered. He beat up the motor city machine guns, and just annihilated both of them. I don’t know who Suicide is, but everyone I’ve spoken to have claimed that it is Christopher Daniels, I’m not sure who he is really…nor do I even care. It wasn’t a match, he just jumped in and beat people up.

Kurt Angle defeated Rhino
Mick Foley was the special guest enforcer

This to me was just delaying the inevitable meeting between Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett. You knew it was coming and it was just TNA’s way of getting Rhino involved with the ppv. Kurt Angle was once again beating his opponent out of the ring and made sure to get in a lot of spots. Meanwhile, Foley was trying to give tips to Rhino whenever Angle was out of the way. Angle was way too confident with his rear naked choke as he just seemed to be trying to choke out Rhino, but Rhino go back up and mounted a short lived comeback. Angle got the upper hand in this match up with the inevitable Ankle Lock and Foley was screaming for Rhino to dig deep, and somehow, by some miracle managed to not be a factor at all. Rhino did however put on another great comeback and set up for a huge gore, but walked into an angle slam instead. Angle looked frustrated, and foley was itching to get back into the ring one more time. The Ref got gored out of his boots which was a nice touch, and Angle had this match sewn up completely. He went out to ringside and grabbed a chair, meanwhile Foley was in the ring to try and stop him from hitting Rhino with a chair, meanwhile Foley took over the ref’s job and counted a quick two count! He then kicked out the ref and took the full fledged ref’s spot for a good portion of the match up. Rhino was looking to be winning this one, especially now that Foley was the ref. Al Snow was there! Al Snow showed up! That’s right, AL FREAKIN SNOW! Angle took advantage of Foley being distracted by Snow, and Foley counted a three count after Angle hit Rhino in the head with a chair!

Sting, Booker T, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner defeated Team 3-D, Samoa Joe, and Aj Styles

This was also convoluted. But easy to follow, meaning that the world title was on the line in this match; Sting’s team had to win to retain the belt for Sting, however if Styles’ team won, then Sting would lose the belt to Aj. Weird. Alright, this match was your basic tag team fair, nothing crazy, just everyone getting a shot to show what they had. These type of 8 man tag team matches rules the 1980’s wwf scene and I remember borrowing lots of “Best of WWF” tv compilation vhs tapes from my local video store, and that’s what this match reminded me of. It was an all around good match up, even though there were some spots that were a little long for my particular tastes. With so many fresh tags, no one looked to be so doing worse than the other, and overall this wasn’t half bad. I actually didn’t have a favorite going into this match up, but it was refreshing to see so many spots in such a match up. We saw some of the best moves from Team 3-D and even Nash got a few spots in this one. Dare I say, that Steiner looked good too! Overall not the worst match up in the world, even if it was a tag team match for the main event. This was almost as good as the main event of In Your House Canadian Stampede where The Hart Foundation went over big in the main event in a HUGE tag match. This thing turned into an all out brawl at the end, as it should, and things were really favoring the Main event mafia. Sting hit the scorpion death drop and pins joe for the win. The main event mafia win again!

WWE Smackdown 12/6/08 Review and Results

Here we go, the prerecorded Friday night tradition, and we’re back in action! Remember, next week I will not be reviewing the ecw and raw, but will come back strong for TNA and Smackdown. So here we go, this is how it went down tonight:

Edge defeated Kung Fu Naki

I guess it was time to bury Kung Fu Naki. Edge got a really easy match here, and it was a shame, but I guess this is what happens huh? Too bad, Funaki looked good out there, but it wasn’t meant to be I guess.

Maria defeated Michelle McCool

This match was building from the past and we got it here These two have improved their wrestling styles a little, but still don’t match the physical prowess that the TNA knockouts have. There were some good hits from McCool, as she really was putting a good effort in, while Maria was taking some stiff shots from McCool, which seemed a little odd to me. Maria managed to pull off the victory with a major roll up, putting all her weight on McCool and of course winning this NON TITLE match. Lame. At least this was quick.

Hurricane Helms defeated MVP

MVP lost a major match to Hurricane Helms. Helms didn’t miss a step, but his offense was once again ground based, rather than high flying. MVP took it to Helms for a short time, but Helms really got the better of MVP by hitting most of his offense including the shining wizard! This match was shorter than most, and it ended well for Helms. I guess MVP is on his way out or something, because he hasn’t won a match in a long time. Sad huh? Helms looked great.

Triple H and Jeff Hardy defeated Hawkins and Ryder

The former Edgekins were first up to fight Triple H and Jeff Hardy here in the first match up in this tag team gauntlet. Hawkins and Ryder weren’t much for a match up for the two main eventers.

The Miz and John Morrison defeated Triple H and Jeff Hardy

The second team was going to pose a bigger threat for the two big guys in the ring, and it showed. The Miz and Morrison frustrated the two enemies and the fight soon went against each other and the team imploded. Triple H and Jeff Hardy attacked each other after the match wasn’t going so well for them and things were getting really out of hand, so much so that the ref counted Hardy and Triple H out, and then a score of refs came out to try and stop the two from killing each other. This match was pointless.

Matt Hardy vs. Chavo Guerrero (no contest)

Chavo hasn’t wrestled a worthwhile match up in a while, so it was nice to see him get into a match with the ECW champion, however I knew that there was no way that he could win. He did start the match well, and he got some great moves in, but it was Matt Hardy’s fast paced counters that made this match worthwhile. This match was going well but Kozlov ran in and interfered with the match up, causing the match to get thrown out. Matt Hardy then sold the injury a lot, and it looked like he was going to need medical attention.

Undertaker defeated Big Show in a Steel Cage Match

This match could’ve been a lot better. It was a slow moving match, as they usually have, but the two used the cage to their advantage completely. They also took bumps from the top of the ropes and even a small bump near the top of the cage. This match was going back and forth until Undertaker got his triangle choke submission and Big Show tapped out like a drunk man, and it was all over. Not bad, but not good either.

Tna Impact 12/4/08 Review and Results All Hail The Governer

Here we go, our first Impact back from vacation, hopefully it got better, hopefully.

First thing I noticed was that the picture looked squashed somehow, it was odd. Like it was meant for hd but they reconverted it somehow, it’s really odd.

Booker T. defeated Samoa Joe in a street fight

I’m not sure why the TNA officials allowed this match to go on television. This match should have been given to the PPV audience not the free television audience. This match was a street fight, for the legend title and the aggressor was definitely Samoa Joe. Joe was working a little stiffer than Booker was used to, at least that is what it looked like to me. This match quickly spilled out into the crowd. The match continued back into the ring, and it looked like Samoa Joe was going to win this one, it was incredible. Joe had Booker T tapping out, but out came the Beautiful people and sprayed something in the eyes of Joe and Booker T picked up the win!

ODB’s Angle sucks. Trust me, it’s horrible.

Aj Styles & Christy Hemme defeated Scott Steiner & Awesome Kong

Steiner and Styles opened up this match and for once Steiner wasn’t half bad. Styles really had some major confidence in this match up and he was pushing the big man to wrestle a better match than usual, it was partially due to the fact that Aj can bump well and his timing is so good. Awesome Kong comes in and delivers a knife edge chop on styles but can’t fight back, and this gives Steiner a good leg up. However, this match up went to the women, and it was great. Aj and Christy really worked well together and they made this match good. It was too short, but Hemme got the pinfall leading up to the ppv this weekend. It was a quick finish right after the commercial break.

Consequences Creed, Eric Young, and Jay “Black Machismo” Lethal defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir, Sonjay Dutt and one of the machine gun

This match was alright, Sheik refused to wrestle when the ref was in there. It was basically 3 on 2 with the good guys getting a better edge here. The match was fast and was working out quite well. It was definitely one sided, and fast. Consequences Creed got the pin, and afterwards Sheik attacked Eric Young.

Rhino defeated Sting (non title match)

Sting was crazy in this match up. He was pummeling Rhino for the most part, and Rhino was busted wide open. He was bleeding all over the place, it was ridiculous to say the least. Kurt Angle ran down towards the end of the match to try and give some words to Sting. Rhino was getting worked though, he was just getting worked man, this match was near ppv quality if it was a little longer. Sting had this oene seemingly sewn up but after some quick interference from Kurt Angle and Aj Styles fighting Angle on the outside Rhino hit the gore and defeated Sting clean!

ECW 12/2/08 Results and Review

It’s about time we got a good ECW.

Jack Swagger defeated Ricky Ortiz

Swagger and Ortiz, two undefeated wrestlers went at it, and this was a surprise. I wasn’t sure who was going to win this one, but it was interesting to see that the wwe finally puts something interesting on television that doesn’t involve old people. Ricky Ortiz had this match up sewn up well, but out of the blue Jack Swagger hit his move and BOOOM! Ricky Ortiz is no longer undefeated! Swagger wins again! Jack Swagger is impressive now, I’m sorry, he’s just doing too well. Kid could go far if he loses that lisp.

Matt Hardy defeated MVP

The main event had a good build up that was carrying over from smackdown. MVP has been on a losing streak for a long time and this match was suppose to be his redemption. MVP was looking desperate out there, and he was doing anything he could to wear down the ecw champion. Matt Hardy and MVP went back and forth in this one several times and it looked like MVP was on the road to victory, but it just didn’t happen. MVP fell to the side effect from Matt Hardy and this was all over. MVP loses again, and some might argue that he’s on his way out.

WWE Raw 12/1/08 Review and Results

We’re back in action this week, I’m back from my vacation and I’m in full writing mode again. I start this week in wrestling with nothing else than my full Raw review! That’s right, WWE Raw is back with a vengeance.

Rey Mysterio was scheduled to wrestle the Miz, but was interrupted.

This is stupid. This is how the little guys get injured, they get fed to whatever new monster the WWE is trying to promote. Mike Knox wasn’t even Mysterio’s opponent for this match up, and we go to commercial with Mysterio asking for medical help for his arm.

Cm Punk & Kofi Kingston defeated Manu & Cody Rhodes

Finally, Manu and Cody Rhodes have to wrestle, instead of being random idiots running in and spoiling the fun of the good guys. This match opened strong and for once I actually thought that team priceless was looking competent. I don’t like that Punk and Kingston have the titles, as I’ve always said that established tag teams should not just randomly lose to dream match pairings. The match quickly spilled out to the floor, and right when things were getting interesting, we got a commercial break. Rhodes was trying to keep his job in this one as he really tried hard to look good against Punk. Punk and Kingston work well together, and the crowd was eating this match up. Manu looked like the weak link in this match, and Rhodes would jump in to save him on several occasions. It wasn’t enough though, as Kofi Kingston got the hot tag and was jumping all over the place with everything but the kitchen sink being thrown at Cody Rhodes. Kofi wins this match with a huge spinning front kick to Rhodes and the champs win again.

Melina defeated Jillian

I haven’t seen Melina in a while, and I didn’t like to see her here. I never likd here. I don’t think these women can wrestle all that well. I didn’t like this match, and it wasn’t all that great at all. This match was only watchable because Santino was on commentary and making fun of himself and the women. Melina drops Jillian with the last call and the match is over. Lame match.

Batista defeated Dolph Ziggler

This was a train wreck. Dolph, former member of the spirit squad, got killed for no particular reasons…oh yeah, the drug thing. Dolph got some good offense in, as Batista was stunned initially, and the commentary team was selling Ziggler as an incredible wrestler, until the tables turned and things really got bad. Batista tried the spear and missed, as Ziggler jumped up over him, and then after what I thought was going to be the Batista bomb, Ziggler powered out of the Batista bomb. Ziggler’s main mistake though was that he jumped off the top rope into Batista’s arms to get a spine buster than we got the Batista bomb and it was all said and done. Batista walks alone.

Morrison defeated Finlay

Finlay was not looking so good against John Morrison as Morrison started this match with a flurry of offense. Finlay answered back with some stiff hits of his own, but it seemed like Morrison was just in the zone. There were a lot of rest holds for this match up, and that was weird, considering that they were short on time in my view. However, they picked it up with a good set of chains to close this match up. Finlay loses to John Morrison, and now Punk will face Morrison in the semi-finals of the Intercontinental title tournament.

Rey Mysterio defeated The Miz

Rey Mysterio came out with his arm heavily taped. However, that didn’t stop him from getting the 619 right off the bat, however he missed a splash and landed on the injured arm of his, and Miz came in and targeted that mistake like a veteran. I can’t believe that the WWE got The Miz over somehow, as he was looking good in this match. Mysterio was basically helpless for a good portion of this match, but Mysterio used his speed to get out of the way and jump in to take some quick shots where he didn’t have to use his arm. I’m not sure how this happened but by some miracle Mysterio wins and advances in the intercontinental championship tournament. Yep, Mysterio pulls one out of the hat to win.

John Cena defeated Kane

I wasn’t sure where this one was going, but it was your typical John Cena match. Even with Chris Jericho’s interference, John Cena beat the big red machine clean. It didn’t take a whole lot out of the champion. Cena then charged Jericho outside of the ring and gave him another famous beat down. But Priceless came out, then Randy Orton came out and Cena was basically helpless. Cena was getting pulled towards the ramp and getting set up for a ddt off the ramp to the floor, and BOOOM! DDT on the FLOOR off the Ramp on Cena. Then Jericho, Orton, Manu, and Cody Rhodes celebrated the demise of Cena with Jericho kicking cena while he was down. The Crowd went into a Batista chant, but nothing happened for a good long while, and we got Jericho slapping on the walls of Jericho old school style on Cena.
