TNA Impact 3/19/09 Results and Review Sting What Side Is He On

Here we go, a few days after the big ppv this last weekend, and hopefully it doesn’t completely suck.

The Main Event Mafia started the show. Most notable was Scott Steiner, his face fully covered, was in the background. Kurt Angle started calling out Sting yet again. After a few comments, Kurt Angle called out Jeff Jarrett, who promptly came down and said Angle doesn’t deserve crap! Foley showed up and started to talk crap…they were losing me. Jeff Jarret and Mick Foley will wrestle Sting & Kurt Angle later tonight!

No Limit w/ Kiyoshi defeated The Motor City Machine Guns

This was a good overall International tag team match up. This was fast moving action with little to no psychology. I didn’t mind, considering the language barrier and the sheer amount of great wrestling moves I’ve seen in a long time. The Bridge suplex mid match was picture perfect! The Japanese team of No Limit won this fast match up and it wasn’t half bad. After the match Beer Money ran down and knocked everyone out.

Beer Money called out Team 3-D they are going to wrestle in a cage at the next ppv.

ODB & Taylor Wilde defeated Awesome Kong & Raisha Saeed

This match didn’t have enough time to develop. It ended up being kind of boring. The match was rushed and while it had a few spots, it really was rushed, and well, the good guys win again. Or should I say, the good girls? Women? Whatever.

Samoa Joe vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir no contest

This match never happened. Samoa Joe pounced, beat up the ref then took Bashir to the back beating him along the way. We then got thrown into another commercial. Seriously, this wasn’t even worth it.

Aj Styles gets a trophy and some money for winning the Veteran’s championship. Boring.

The Governor defeated Madison Rayne

I’m so sick of this stupid gimmick. I don’t know why they keep pushing this “Palin” gimmick, but it is stupid to me. What makes this worse for me is the fact that The Governor can’t really wrestle all that well. She’s got a few moves, but overall, the beautiful people’s constant interference messed with the timing and dare I say, made it better? Yeah. The Governor pulled out a victory after a quick roll up, creating another boring match up. After the match up, they cut The Governor’s hair. This match felt really rushed, and it seemed like the post match had more in ring psychology than the actual match up! Sad state of affairs for the TNA Knockouts.
Samoa Joe was torturing Sheik Abdul Bashir, hanging him upside down and beating him with a kendo stick. This cleared the FCC? Wow, this is dumb. Samoa Joe used to put on four star matches, now he’s just stupid and psychotic. This is unnecessary, yet they keep pushing it in our faces. Lame.

Jeff Jarrett & Mick Foley defeated Kurt Angle & Sting

This match started with Angle and Jarrett exchanging classic wrestling holds, and Double J proving that he still has it in him to lift himself for a perfect drop kick. Foley was tagged in and you know what? The dude can chain wrestle, not the best chain wrestling I’ve ever seen, it was just good for Foley. Of course, Foley isn’t in the best shape of his career and it showed in this match up. Of course, the ref was knocked out, and so was everyone in the ring except for Jarrett and Angle. Sting got hold of Jarrett’s Guitar, Foley got a Chair and leveled Sting! The ref got down and counted the three, and things just kind of ended with that.

Overall, this edition of TNA Impact wasn’t all that good. TNA needs to strengthen their roster with better matches, less backstage shenanigans and just straight forward wrestling. That’s their strong suit, and yet they don’t use it. Too bad.
