TNA No Surrender 2010 Review

The PPV started with the arrivals of the wrestlers to the arena. Nothing crazy, just handy cam footage. I'm not sure why this is entertaining, but then again, I can't really say that TNA has a whole list of entertaining things, half of the time.

This is basically a telegraphed ppv, and year for TNA. Angle will eventually get the title and that's about it. That's it.

The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Generation Me

The opening match was set to stun, and it was definitely an interesting one, but I can't help but notice the lack of in ring psychology from the two teams involved. There were several instances where the Motor City Machine Guns hit 6 or 7 moves back to back to back and so forth on their opponents, and yet Generation Me was still rolling around fighting, and getting up. Do these move have NO impact? It just doesn't make sense to me. As for entertainment value, this match had a lot of great tag team moments, and featured a lot of back and forth action. This is a great opener, had a great deal of spots that just proved that there is need for a deeper tag division. Even with my complaints, this match delivered, and got the crowd into the night, and while I knew that the young bucks weren't winning, I was at least entertained, and well, I give TNA credit for actually giving tag teams a little more time. It's only a matter of time before Nash & Sting get the titles though...just saying.

The one thing I didn't like, is that the announcers kept talking about how it wasn't "Christian" of sorts for Generation Me to beat up the Motor City Machine Guns after the match. I'm sure many will cite that, and try to say that they are "not" being very christian like...which is why I never like to throw out my religion when discussing anything I professionally do. Heck, if I make a sandwich is it a "christian" sandwich? just sayin.

Douglas Williams defeated Sabu

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but Sabu and Williams were actually telling a story for a change. I was surprised at the in ring psychology in this match. Williams focused on rest holds and isolated Sabu's arm at first, and was trying to stop Sabu's high powered offense, and was having a hard time doing so. Sabu kept trying to add his "hardcore" style to the matches, but was thwarted by the ref or by Williams. I give Williams some credit, because he got a lot out of Sabu, and it wasn't just a spot fest. Sabu has slowed down a bit, but he still can put together some quality moments, without resorting to all weapons etc. That being said, this match was better than I thought, and really had a good balance of Sabu's hardcores style vs the more traditional mat wrestling style. I actually thought this one was good...even with a botch, and some blown spots. I'm not sure every wrestling fan will have the same view of the match that I did, but I loved it, that's for sure. Sabu was in some obvious pain, and dare I say...was "selling" and was actually "wrestling"?!?! This slower style really was complimented, and while some of the crowd was chanting "boring" and booing the action, I liked it a lot. I absolutely loved the table spot in this match, it was done with a serious "brain". Williams was placed on top of it, then looked up visibly to see where SABU was and Sabu flew through it, and that was that, the beginning of the end. Doug Williams distracted the ref and hit Sabu with the title belt to win. A 3 star match from these two? Wow...I was impressed for once.

Velvet Sky defeated Madison Rayne

This was probably one of the worst women's matches I've ever seen. There wasn't much saving grace here. While I think Madison Rayne has a pretty face, she can't wrestle, and this match was stupid. I hate the knockouts division now....they need more depth and Awesome Kong etc. Whatever. I hate the divas and the knockouts now. What a waste of ppv space.

Abyss defeated Rhino

I've already seen this match many times. I hate Abyss and I'm not a fan of Rhino. This match was terrible. I don't mind hardcore matches, but this one sucked, it was slow, it was dumb, and it just further proves that Abyss is a one trick pony and Rhino is past his prime. I was bored, you were bored...no one cares about these two idiots.

Oh and who's "THEY"? Who kidnapped Samoa Joe? Ugh...TNA, by mid point sucked the life out of this ppv.

Samoa Joe & Jeff Jarrett defeated Sting & Kevin Nash

This match was stupid. I'm tired of the old idiots. I'm sick of seeing Jarrett. Samoa JOe did the majority of the work in this match, but the old guys could barely bump to his offense. Sting is past his prime, it was very evident here. Double J used the bat to get the win, and that was that. This match sucked, and TNA turned an ok ppv into some of the worst wrestling since WCW 2000. Samoa Joe knocked out Sting with his submission move...whatever...NO ONE CARES ABOUT THESE GUYS!

WHO KIDNAPPED SAMOA JOE?!??!?! FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS! WAY TO RUIN A PPV TNA MAN I'M SO SICK OF THIS PIECE OF CRAP.

Aj Styles defeated Tommy Dreamer in an I Quit Match

Tommy Dreamer gets pummeled and beat down in this "I Quit Match". Aj STyles won by stabbing Dreamer in the eye with a fork. Yep. I kid you not. This was stupid...this match sucked. STyles barely broke a sweat, Dreamer looked as though he was carrying a keg through the whole match up. Man, this ppv had promise and just totally went down hill. Dreamer looked like he was crying, Styles is a shell of his former self...this sucked. You don't want to see this trash.

Man, I wish I could hang out with Christy Hemme...and her huge forehead.

Angle's telegraphed wins are start to tire me so much.

Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle (NO CONTEST)

Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle were trying to put on a clinic, and I didn't hate it. I thought that they worked their asses off in this match, however, I've already seen both of these guys go to war with differeng people and each other and I'm not really that surprised. I wasn't really into the match, and I kept thinking, ok, Angle is going to win soon etc etc. The match went to the time limit with a draw, and Bischoff declared over time...TWICE! After a long drawn out battle, and two restarts, I finally started to get into this match, and thought that the two might be able to capture my imagination, evne for a second. Angle was busted wide open after hitting the steel steps, and that became a factor in the over time. The time limit once again expired, and Hardy & Angle were still trying to go...buuuuut.....Angle was "bleeding" too much and Bischoff was in the ring and trying to give Hardy some time to recover.

After a long pause, and I do mean long...Bischoff got on the mic and said that the match was a NO CONTEST...so lame...so lame. There were a LOT of spots here, lots of impact moves, lots of reversals, lots of kick outs, 5 years ago this match would've been 4 stars. I liked it enough, but it just didn't hold my attention nearly as much as TNA would have liked me to enjoy it. I don't care about fat ass jeff hardy and past his prime angle...i just don't.

Ken Anderson defeated The Pope D'Angelo Dinero

This match, might have been the longest match I've seen Ken Anderson in since leaving WWE. The Pope was carrying a good amount of this match up, and Kennedy was looking a big more Flabby then he usually does. Dinero was favoring his left shoulder for a good portion of this match as Anderson had been focusing on that in many ways. Despite these two trying really hard, the match just dragged on at a few points. Even the crowd as over this ppv as they were silent through most of the two's offense. I haven't seen or heard a "deader" crowd in my life during parts of this match up. There were some major botches here, and after The MIC check was blocked a bunch, and then kicked out of, this match was just looking to be a parody of a good wrestling match. I was ready to throw in the towel on this ppv at around 2 hours and 45 minutes, and didn't see how they could've saved the match, even with The Pope's third come back. After THREE MIC Checks throughout the match, Ken Anderson advanced...which is surprising to me.

Oh and didn't The Pope have a title shot due him? Whatever...I'm sick of this crap.

This match shouldn't have been the main event, it sucked. Ken Anderson was barely sweating, he phoned it in, Pope carried him for a good amount of the match, and I was just tired...I'm sick of this crap.

No Surrender started of good, but after the second match, this thing cooled to ice...what a terrible PPV. This is a high candidate for the worst ppv I've seen all year...yeah, worst ppv all year! I'm so sick of this promotion...such a lousy ppv. NO ONE HAD BETTER HAVE LIKED THIS...WHAT A TERRIBLE NIGHT OF WRESTLING! LOUSY! LOUSY LOUSY! FIRE ALL THE TNA WRITERS!

I'd rather have no alternatives than to keep watching this piece of crap wrestling promotion. WCW 2001 was better...yeah, I said it.
