WCW Monday Nitro September 4, 1995 Results and Review The First Ever Nitro

The first ever WCW Monday Nitro aired in 1995. September 4, 1995 to be exact, and it would mark the show that would compete against WWF’s Monday Night Raw for years, and at one point beating it. In this new series, I’m going to go back and watch every single Nitro and review them from the beginning to the end. This is on conjunction to the current WWE product, and PPV reviews that I’m doing at random moments, because I’m a glutton.

WCW Monday Nitro premiered from The Mall of America in Minnesota. This was a one hour show that shoved a lot of wrestling, or at least it felt like a lot of wrestling into an hour, and with a few surprises, wasn’t half bad. Here is how it went down.

WCW Monday Nitro September 4, 1995 Results

Flyin Brian defeated Jushin Thunder Liger
Sting defeated Ric Flair via DQ (United States Title Match)
Hulk Hogan defeated Big Bubba Rogers (WCW World Heavyweight Title Match)

WCW Monday Nitro September 4, 1995 Review

Flyin Brian defeated Jushin Thunder Liger

The opening match was really cool. WCW had put this match on PPV and the two had wrestled in Japan a few times by this point, but it was nice to see them put on a quick match. The internet said it was only 6 minutes long, but I felt like it was longer. Brian Pillman is great here, and Liger is always fun to watch. The two went back and forth before Pillman picked up the big win. Great opener, showcasing the great cruiserweight division, before it was called such.

Sting defeated Ric Flair via DQ (United States Title Match)

Sting and Ric Flair wrestled a really good match, but was interrupted twice. The first interruption was from Lex Luger, as he would appear 1 day after he appeared on WWF television! The announce team acted like they didn’t know what was going on, and Luger said he wanted a title shot. After he left, Arn Anderson showed up and eventually got involved, beating up Ric Flair and causing the DQ. The two would meet at Fall Brawl 1995, where Pillman would cost Flair the match.

Scott Norton came out and demanded a title shot. Mongo got in his face, and eventually Macho Man came out and challenged him for next week.

Hulk Hogan defeated Big Bubba Rogers (WCW World Heavyweight Title Match)

Hulk Hogan and Big Bubba Rogers put on an ok match, with Hogan getting the win with his usual moves of doom. Rogers is so agile for a big man, it’s always fascinating to see him wrestle. Hogan and Rogers are no strangers to one another as you may recall Rogers was The Big Boss Man in WWF where he feuded with Hogan for years.

That was it. In 1 hour, the WCW product showed some of their biggest names, and it was just getting started. I liked it. I will have to go back and watch the first ever Monday Night Raw, but for now, here’s this quick review of the first ever Nitro, which wasn’t half bad. It flew by, and the matches were ok at best. Flair and Sting are always fun to watch, even if the match broke down into chaos. Pillman, what a talent, sad to know he’s gone.

WWE Wrestlemania 33 Predictions

This weekend, a lot of wrestling is going to happen. While I will be reviewing and discussing NXT Takeover, I am not going to discuss it right now. I’m not going put predictions on it, even though I know The Drifter is going to the main roster.

What I will be talking about, however, is Wrestlemania 33 predictions. These are based on my opinions and not spoilers. I am not going to Wrestlemania this year, but maybe I will go next year. I don’t know. I don’t have any friends, and don’t know anyone, so I’m going to explore other options first.

WWE Universal Title Match
Bill Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar

I’ve crunched the numbers. I’ve watched old Goldberg matches, and I’m going to say that this one is easy booking for me. Bill Goldberg is once again going to bury Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is going to get embarrassed because of all of the b.s. that he has said in the past. He has gone on record to say that he doesn’t give a flying F about what Stephanie McMahon thinks, and is only into wrestling for the money. Well, let’s teach him a lesson, Goldberg will bury him, then the title will get dropped via Money In The Bank or another method. Goldberg will beat Bork Lazer, bank on it!

WWE Title Match
Bray Wyatt defeats Randy Orton

Bray Wyatt and Orton will wrestle a stiff match because they have no chemistry. I expect Rowan and Harper to show up and align themselves with Bray Wyatt again. Orton will lose, and that’s going to be the end. Unless, he was promised a title because of doing the job to Lesnar and getting busted open hard way.

Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match for the RAW Women's Title
Bayley defeats Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair

Bayley retains her title. There is going to be a point where Bayley’s friendship is going to get tested. She’s going to pick up the pieces of a Nia Jax and Sasha Banks beat down. Flair will not be a factor, and Bayley will have to decide if she is really friends with Sasha Banks or if the title means more. This is going to be the story, but Bayley will win and hang on by a thread.

WWE United States Title Match
Kevin Owens defeats Chris Jericho

Kevin Owens and Jericho will put on a fine match, but it’s going to be Owens that wins and that’s that. He will have the United States title, and will get booked like a chicken again, and we won’t ever know about the prize fighter’s legacy, because the booking will be stupid. Jericho will go tour with Fozzy.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match
Baron Corbin defeats Dean Ambrose

Baron Corbin will not only win against Dean Ambrose, he’s going to do it with a quotation mark tied to it. Look for Ambrose to do his normal spots, and get bored in the middle of the match, with Corbin finally getting a title and holding onto it for a long time.

Triple Threat Ladder Match for the RAW Tag Team Titles
Enzo Amore & Big Cass defeates Sheamus & Cesaro and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Assuming the Hardy Boyz are not going to crash the party, I’m going to say that Big Cass and Enzo somehow pull it together and defeat the Club Sandwich boys and the foreigners.

However, if the Hardy Boyz crash the party, they will win the tag team titles, and the crowd will erupt in “delete” chants.

Non-Sanctioned Match
Seth Rollins defeats Triple H

Seth Rollins will edge out a victory here. However, Triple H is going to beat the bricks off of Rollins. Rollins will need help getting to the back, and Triple H may bleed for this one.

Roman Reigns defeats The Undertaker

Well, this is the end. The Undertaker will retire after this. Roman will remain strong, and that’s that. Good night old man.

The Miz and Maryse defeats John Cena and Nikki Bella
Special Guest Ring Announcer: Al Roker

John Cena is not only going to lose, he’s going to lose big. Nikki Bella is going to betray him because she is going to realize that Cena will never commit. Cena will go for a tag, or will need help, and she will leave him hanging. The Miz and Maryse will then put the boots to him and he’ll lose. This will cause him to throw in the towel on his good guy antics and he’ll be a super heel.

Shane McMahon defeats AJ Styles

The way they are booking Aj Styles, I’m going to say that he is going to lose against Shane McMahon. I don’t want to see this, so I’ll just say that Shane wins with the help of Daniel Bryan.

Kickoff Pre-show:
WWE Cruiserweight Title Match
Neville defeats Austin Aries

Austin Aries will put on a great match. But he will not win. He is going to lose big, and it’s going to be a major detriment. Neville is going to pull out all the stops, but he’s not going to win easily. Austin Aries is going to get his mouth shut, hard way. Here’s hoping that Mustafa Ali gets the title, that dude is bomb yo. Austin Aries will lose.

Kickoff Pre-show:
Six-Pack Challenge for the SmackDown Women's Title
Naomi defeats Mickie James, Carmella, Natalya, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss

Naomi is going to show the crowd the power of Glow, but the time her match is slated to begin, it will still be light, won’t it? Whatever the case is, this match will end with Naomi getting the pinfall, and that’s about it.

Kickoff Pre-show:
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Brown Shoeman will win the Battle Royal

Braun Strowman, Sami Zayn, Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Apollo Crews, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Mark Henry, Titus O'Neil, Goldust, R-Truth, Curtis Axel, Primo, Epico, Bo Dallas, Jinder Mahal, Rhyno, Heath Slater, Mojo Rawley, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Breeze, Fandango, Simon Gotch, Aiden English, Kalisto, Viktor, Konnor, Sin Cara

That’s it. Brown Shoeman will win this one that’s it.

As for anything else on the show, I don’t know. I’m going to be sitting at home, drinking as much as I can, and eating more pizza than I know what to do with. I may be right on these, I may be wrong, no matter what though, I’m going to enjoy myself.

WWE NXT March 30, 2017 Results and Review Phoning In The Show

WWE NXT is really hit or miss, and this week, it had everything shoved into a short span of time. It didn’t feel special at all, and you know what, maybe the whole show was phoned in. Let’s consider this show and then I’ll put up a review of the first ever WCW Nitro, then will be posting my predictions for Wrestlemania.

WWE NXT March 30, 2017 Results

Dash Wilder defeated Johnny Gargano and Akam in a Triple Threat Match
Heavy Machinery defeated Jonathan Ortagun and Mike Marshall
Asuka and Ember Moon signed a contract for Saturday’s Big Show
Kassius Ohno defeated Elias “The Drifter” Samson in a Loser Leaves NXT Match

WWE NXT March 30, 2017 Review

Dash Wilder defeated Johnny Gargano and Akam in a Triple Threat Match

The smartest play I’ve seen in wrestling in a long time. Dash Wilder ran to the ring after Akam and Gargano fought each other. The two battled each other, and eventually Wilder ran in and picked up the quick win. Wilder and his partner didn’t stay for the match, but only ran in at the end, smart move.

Heavy Machinery defeated Jonathan Ortagun and Mike Marshall

Looks like Disorderly Conduct from WCW is back. This was a jobber match.

Asuka and Ember Moon signed a contract for Saturday’s Big Show

Asuka’s English is horrible. I can’t wait to see her get booed out of the building or get the “WHAT” chants on the main roster.

Kassius Ohno defeated Elias “The Drifter” Samson in a Loser Leaves NXT Match

This was not a great match. Samson threw up a few good shots, but it was all Ohno here. Ohno’s outfit is not flattering, but the dude can go so well, that you ignore it. Samson wasn’t that great, but it looks like he’s going up to the main roster. I think he has an upside, he was able to go through some great offense, and get the crowd to hate him. Good stuff.

At the end of the day, this was a phoned in show. Kassius Ohno is fun to watch, and he did put on a good show with The Drifter. He also smashed a guitar at the end of the day. Great stuff there, but at the end of the day, it felt like it was phoned in to me.

WWE 205 Live March 28, 2017 Results and Review

Austin Aries Needs To Stop Running His Mouth - SRC WWE.COM
If you’re a wrestling fan, and you want to watch pure wrestling, then usually you would turn on WWE 205 Live. But this time around, the block of 1 hour was actually shortened because of the ending element and we’ll discuss that here on the blogomatic.

WWE 205 Live March 28, 2017 Results

Rich Swann defeated Ariya Daivari
Mustafa Ali defeated Brandon Scott
The Brian Kendrick defeated Akira Tozawa
Neville and Austin Aries talked for too long

WWE 205 Live March 28, 2017 Review

Let me ask you something. Where is Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik? I though there were more cruiserweights in the WWE, and for that matter, where is Kalisto? He’d be perfect in this division. Oh well.

Rich Swann defeated Ariya Daivari

This was a workable match, but there is no real story here. Daivari has more of an influence with Jack Gallagher than with Swann, and this just seems like a waste. A shortened match with a few good spots to boot.

Mustafa Ali defeated Brandon Scott

Mustafa Ali has made a fan out of me. I wasn’t sure about him, but wow. What a worker. I hope they put him in more main event matches, because he’s ridiculously good. He’s wasted on this show though.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Akira Tozawa

Akira Tozawa should’ve got his revenge, right? Nope. Kendrick wins this slow paced to mid-paced match up of not so epic proportions. It’s ok, but it wasn’t as impactful as they were building up to for weeks.

Neville and Austin Aries talked for too long

This felt like it dragged on and on. There’s no real hype for me. Why was Austin in his regular clothes, but Neville in his wrestling gear? Neville didn’t wrestle on this show. Aries is ok, but honestly, I don’t see the hype. I guess I’ll find out at Mania whether he’s worth the ticket price.

That’s it. This episode of 205 Live was not worth it. This was just a bland, mayonnaise sandwich on white bread. It just wasn’t fun. Oh well. I guess we’re on to NXT tomorrow, and hopefully I will have a review of an old school classic.

WWE Smackdown Live March 28, 2017 Results and Review Cornette Face All Over This Show

Jim Cornette Face All day for This - SRC WWE.COM
What the hell was this?

No, seriously, what the hell were they thinking?

WWE Smackdown Live was supposed to be a show that competed with Raw, but you know what? It has completely jumped the shark in a whole new way. This is by far one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of WCW. Are we sure that Vince Russo isn’t booking this again? This is an absolute nightmare of a show. I don’t even want to review it, but for the sake of this blog, let’s discuss a few things about it.

WWE Smackdown Live March 28, 2017 Results

Aj Styles and Shane McMahon had a contract signing for an hour
Becky Lynch vs. Carmella went to a no contest
Alexa Bliss and Carmella defeated Becky Lynch and Mickie James
Miz TV Segment Went Long
Mojo Rawley, Heath Slater, Rhyno, and American Alpha defeated Dolph Ziggler, Breezango, and The Usos
Bray Wyatt defeated Luke Harper
Randy Orton agreed to look like a complete cartoon character idiot

WWE Smackdown Live March 28, 2017 Results

The opening of the show was not wrestling mind you, it was Shane McMahon and Aj Styles. Oh, and there was no Mauro Ronallo! Mama Mia, sounds like someone’s going to get fired.

Aj Styles and Shane McMahon had a contract signing for an hour

This is stupid. Aj Styles is wasting his talent wrestling a part time manager. No disrespect to Shane McMahon, but this is the best in the world, he shouldn’t be wrestling Shane at Wrestlemania. He should be in the main event wrestling for a title. This is how stupid WWE is, they will get the best talent in the world, and then put them in non-sense type matches, strip them of all of their talent, and let them basically get thrown into something stupid. I want to bang my head against a wall at the booking of this stupidity.

Becky Lynch vs. Carmella went to a no contest

This match didn’t go far, because Mickie James and Alexa Bliss started fighting and got into the match.

Alexa Bliss and Carmella defeated Becky Lynch and Mickie James

Why is Mickie James friendly with Becky Lynch? James is the one that caused Lynch her title! Not only that, Bliss and Carmella shouldn’t be friends either, and this match was absolutely garbage. This was a rushed match with a commercial shoe horned into the middle of it. Bliss and Carmella won, but it was a sour match with a lot of stupid components.

Afterwards, Naomi showed up, and the crowd went nuts. I like her, she’s rad. I hope she wins. Other than that, I don’t know.

Miz TV Segment Went Long

Miz TV again made fun of John Cena, and it was stupid. The best part was when Daniel Bryan showed up and got made fun of. Well, The Miz playing Daniel Bryan, I loved it.

John Cena showed up and cut a serious promo. But let’s not forget something.

The Miz defeated John Cena in the main event of Wrestlemania. Yet The Miz did not say anything about this. John Cena basically cut a serious promo on him, and yet no come back? Really? Really? GTFO.

Mojo Rawley, Heath Slater, Rhyno, and American Alpha defeated Dolph Ziggler, Breezango, and The Usos

Bring out your shovels, the tag team division was buried in this match. The five winners will go to the Andre The Giant battle royal, and the losers? They will not be on Wrestlemania. That includes Ziggler! What a waste. Oh and that also includes the tag team champions! What the hell WWE, seriously, what are you doing?

Bray Wyatt defeated Luke Harper

The burial of Luke Harper is complete. This wasn’t a great match at all, and Harper loses clean, which leads me to hate Wyatt and the family. I’m just tired of people saying Smackdown is better than Raw only to have stupid booking like this.

Randy Orton agreed to look like a complete cartoon character idiot

Oh my goodness. This was how they ended the show? This is how they push the feud? Do I really need to discuss how dumb this was? I can’t believe how stupid this was. I can’t. I just can’t. Cornette face is all I can think of, what a lousy show, what a terrible bit of writing. This is absolutely stupid, Stupid!

WWE Monday Night Raw March 27, 2017 Results and Review This Is All The WWE Has Left?

Goldberg Once Again Punked Out Brock Lesnar, A Burial Is Coming - SRC WWE.Com
WWE Monday Night Raw this Monday should have been the biggest event of the week, aside from Wrestlemania. The last Raw before the big event should have been a great one, but instead, it was a floundering mess of booking. I don’t know a single soul that would say that this show was great, even those that were in the audience. When your opening segment gets a crowd to cheer for CM Punk, you know something is wrong. Whatever the case may be, this awful night of wrestling pushed a few elements for the big show, no pun intended, coming this weekend.

WWE Monday Night Raw March 27, 2017 Results

Bayley and Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax
Austin Aries defeated Noam Dar
Seth Rollins Signed Triple H’s Contract
Over The Top Rope Challenge
Neville defeated Jack Gallagher
The Undertaker Confronted Roman Reigns
The Club Sandwich Boys beat up Enzo and Cass with Ladders
Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Owens and now is in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal
Goldberg Punked Out Brock Lesnar

WWE Monday Night Raw March 27, 2017 Review

The night opened up with the women getting on the mic. Charlotte is so much higher than all of the other women it’s sick. She is absolutely great on the mic, and she pushes the boundaries of shoot and kayfabe at times. Bayley looked lost, as she was being told that Sasha Banks is not her friend. That prompted Sasha to come out, which led to a straight up Tag Team Match!

Bayley and Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax

Not a great match, but enough happened to set up a cool four way at Wrestlemania. Bayley and Banks got the win, which is nonsensical to me, but ok, let the good guys win again. Not a long match, and honestly, a bit safe due to no one wanting to be injured going into the Mania show.

Austin Aries defeated Noam Dar

Noam Dar is wasted here. Austin Aries buries him, letting him get very little offense, while yelling at Neville the whole time. Aries has a bravado that is fascinating, but burying talent like Noam Dar is no good. I didn’t like this match, and think that the division is souring fast.

Note, Neville said on the headset with the announce team that Mustafa Ali earned his respect. Damn right he did! If you’re not watching 205 Live, you missed one hell of a match.

Seth Rollins Signed Triple H’s Contract

Rollins came out on a crutch and said he had to beat Triple. Here’s where logic gets thrown out the window. If you have a knee injury, you don’t want to put all of your weight on the knee cap, right? Then why did Seth Rollins go for a pedigree? That forces you to land on your knees! The knee that is injured right now! This was stupid. The two brawled after cutting promos, and that was that. Triple H is a savage when he wants to be.

Over The Top Rope Challenge

The Big Show was burying anyone that came out, until all of the jobbers came rushing down and threw him out. I thought for sure Shaq was going to show up, but of course, he didn’t. Big Show looked embarrassed and then Brown Shoeman came out and said he could beat The Giant. Oh well, looks like the Roman Reigns feud is done.

Neville defeated Jack Gallagher

Not nearly as good as their first meeting. This was a workable match, but without getting much time, it was nothing short of Neville going over a talented Gallagher. Too bad.

The Undertaker Confronted Roman Reigns

The Undertaker looked fat, out of shape, and tired here. Roman Reigns is supposed to be a good guy? I have no idea why these guys are fighting, honestly. Do you? This is a terribly built feud, and one that is going to hopefully retire the Undertaker, because his hips are bad. Just retire dude.

The Club Sandwich Boys beat up Enzo and Cass with Ladders

I read a note that the Hardy Boyz are going to show up and challenge the Club Sandwich boys now that they have introduced ladders into the mix. Enzo, Cass, Cesaro and Sheamus all ended up brawling and getting beat up with the ladders. Sheamus got busted open hard way and it was really bad. The Club Sandwich boys looked somewhat strong here.

Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Owens and now is in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal

Remember when they were NEVER GOING TO WRESTLE AGAIN? Well, that was a lie. Here they are wrestling again, for the millionth time. Not only that, Sami Zayn finally gets a win. Stephanie McMahon took his balls away in a promo to set up this match. Zayn and Owens work well together, don’t get me wrong, but we’ve seen this match as many times as we’ve seen Orton and Cena. Anyways, the same standard match you’d expect from these two, with Zayn getting the win and entrance into the battle royal on Sunday.

Goldberg Punked Out Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar got punked out, and beaten up. So much for that bravado on the mic, Goldberg wasn’t messing around. He punked out Lesnar, then threw him outside and flexed. I’m calling it now folks, Goldberg is going to go over Lesnar, simple as that. He’s going to bury Lesnar, and that’s going to be that.

This night of Raw was absolutely horrendous. I had a hard time staying awake. I don’t know one person that would watch this and say it was a great show. This was the last Raw before Wrestlemania and it did nothing to get me excited for the show. I’m surprised with how bad the WWE has been booking these shows, but then again, how is the stock doing? Perhaps that’s the big thing, this is a business after all.

Oh well. Back to watching WCW ppv and getting ready for more reviews this week.

The Top 10 Wrestlemania Matches Up To 2017

The Top 10 Wrestlemania Matches Up To 2017
It’s Wrestlemania week! With that in mind, I wanted to drop in a Top 10 Wrestelmania matches based on my own personal viewing. I’ve been watching professional wrestling since 1986. My first ever exposures to the wrestling world was Lucha Libre AAA and CMLL with other television stuff.

Then I moved into watching WWF on Saturday and Sunday mornings with Wrestling Challenge and Superstars. That led me to renting VHS tapes and watching all the major events in that regards. I’ve also been to several Wrestlemanias.

As a kid and through my teenage years I’ve been able to be in the audience for Wrestlemania V, VII, XXI, and countless of other events. For this list, I had to whittle down my list from 15 to 10, and it wasn’t easy. These are based on my opinions only, and believe me, they aren’t all what you would expect. I’ve seen every Wrestlemania and each one coincided with different points in my life.

Here you go, the Top 10 Wrestlemania Matches up to 2017

Bad News Brown won a Battle Royal (Trophy gets beaten up by Bret Hart) (Wrestlemania IV)

We go with the first major match that I personally remember. I used to have the Wrestlemania IV VHS set that had 2 VHS tapes. If you opened up the box, it would show Hogan’s body and Andre The Giant’s body. This was an awesome match, with an alliance being formed between Bret Hart and Bad News Brown. Bad News Brown betrayed Bret Hart and he beat up the trophy, and it was awesome. This is a great battle royal, with some nice timing and a great ending.

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat defeated Randy “Macho Man” Savage (Intercontinental Title) (Wrestlemania III)

I struggle with this. This match was great when I saw it the first time, but at this point, I’ve seen it 30 some odd times. This is a good match, don’t get me wrong, but is it the greatest ever? Not really. I didn’t like the ending. I didn’t like the roll up finish, but it did have a great build, and a great crowd reaction. Steamboat was better in WCW, and Macho was great here.

Bret Hart defeated Roddy Piper (Intercontinental Title) (Wrestlemania VIII)

This was such a good match. It may be Roddy Piper’s best match. These two were in their prime, and Hart really put on a show against Piper, but it wasn’t just him, Piper wrestled his greatest match. He really wanted to make sure Hart looked good, and although Piper was strong here, it was Hart that got the nod and the blood bath. You have to go back and watch this one, it’s an instant classic that holds up well today.

Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Rock (WWF Title) (Wrestlemania X-Seven)

One of the greatest heel turns of all time. “Stone Cold is shaking hands with satan himself”, and I loved it. Austin got so frustrated at the end that he went into a whole new zone to beat up the Rock with a chair. This was such a great match, a great crowd, and the McMahon and Austin handshake was a moment that defines an era of wrestling. This is still the best Wrestlemania.

Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels (Retirement Match) (Wrestlemania XXVI)

The retirement match was stellar. So many near falls, so many pushes forward, Jim Ross on commentary, and Undertaker getting pushed through one hell of a match. Michaels left it all in the ring, and the crowd was on their feet for what very well may have been one of his finest hours. Michaels really did well here, and Undertaker really hung in there with Michaels through it all. I loved this one.

Shane McMahon defeated Vince McMahon (Street Fight) (Wrestlemania X-Seven)

Not a technical masterpiece. But a Street Fight of epic proportions. Love or hate Vince, he knows how to pull you in with the most evil of looks and moves. You have to watch this one again, as Shane and Vince really put the boots to each other. The two turned up to 11 and the crowd was all over. Stephanie and Trish Stratus were fighting here, Linda in a wheelchair, Foley and socko, and blood. This was a match of epic proportions, and it still holds up.

Razor Ramon defeated Shawn Michaels (Intercontinental Title Ladder Match (Wrestlemania X)

The biggest ladder match that you will ever see. This wasn’t the first ever, but it was the first at Wrestlemania. This ladder wasn’t the lightweight plastic and metal Werner ladders. This was the hardcore, heavyweight ladder. I used to work construction, some ladders are heavier than others, and these guys were using the heaviest ones. The newer ladder matches have lighter ladders.

The Ultimate Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan (WWF Title) (Wrestlemania VI)

When this match occurred, people were crying. I was shocked. My stomach was hurting, I was anxious, and this was an incredible night. My dad, a grown ass man shed a tear too, Hogan, the immortal Hulk Hogan lost to the Ultimate Warrior. This was an insane line up, but this match, wow. What an incredible match to consider. The Ultimate Warrior’s finest hour was found here, and the crowd was unreal.

Bret Hart defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin (Submission Match) (Wrestlemania XIII)

Perhaps the finest two of Wrestlemania, and perhaps the greatest match in the Wrestlemania history up to this point except for my number one pick. Bret Hart turned heel, the crowed went insane, Ken Shamrock was introduced, and Austin didn’t give up, he passed out. The blood here was fast. For years, I thought that Austin didn’t blade. He didn’t! Bret Hart cut him in such a fine manner. The prick happens fast, and you don’t even realize that it happens. That led to the best final shot, the push ups while in the sharpshooter, passing out, and making this one of the best matches of all time.

The Ultimate Warrior defeated Randy “Macho Man” Savage (Wrestlemania VII)

My number one pick. The number one ever is simple. The Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage put on a clinic of emotion. I was in the crowd, last row in the Los Angeles Sports Arena. It was raining, and my dad took me to the show. We went nuts for this match. Then when Elizabeth came out, we were in tears, this was such a great match. The VHS tape had the edited version, I haven’t gone back to see it on the WWE Network, but this was one hell of a match. You have to go back and see this, my NUMBER ONE Wrestlemania match.

Now let’s hope that this week’s Wrestlemania goes well.

WWE NXT March 22, 2017 Results and Review Terrible Names and A New Challenger

Who Dis? - SRC WWE.COM
WWE NXT is a hit or miss show, that’s about it. No matter what you think about WWE’s product, this definitely is worth your time. It’s like Smackdown LITE in a way. It’s something that you don’t want to miss, but at times, you don’t really want to pay attention to at all. This is how this week’s show went down.

Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Oney Lorcan
Asuka defeated Priscilla Zuniga
Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, and No Way Jose vs. Sanity ended in a No Contest

WWE NXT March 22, 2017 Review

Well, this show opened up with an interesting match, but for all the wrong reasons.

Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Oney Lorcan

Oney Lorcan, the worst name in WWE’s developmental system fought off Andraded “Cien” Almas. When Almas first showed up in the WWE, he was a good guy, now he’s a bad guy, and while has a lot of upside, this match didn’t do him any favors. Oney Lorcan fought him off at every turn, with some hard style work, but it was Almas that would get the win with the double knees, which is definitely grand.

Asuka defeated Priscilla Zuniga

Asuka beat down Priscilla Zuniga. Asuka’s English is absolutely horrendous here. If she makes it to the main roster, she needs a mouth piece, or else she’ll get buried by the likes of Charlotte. But then again, she may be able to make moves on Smackdown, since I can’t understand half of what Becky Lynch is saying.

Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, and No Way Jose vs. Sanity ended in a No Contest

This match didn’t get too far before it got broken up. Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong, and No Way Jose were all business here, nothing fancy. It was ok, for a brawl. A mystery woman showed up, and I don’t know who she is.

At the end of the day, this was an OK show. The end showed Ohno issuing a challenge to The Drifter, loser leaves NXT.

WCW Halloween Havoc 1996 Results and Review

Poster For Halloween Havoc 1996
Going back to 1996 the New World Order was in full effect. Hollywood Hulk Hogan had defeated The Giant at Hog Wild, he had turned heel at Bash at the Beach and was going through every main eventer. Then came The Macho Man to lay claim to the title, before he too joined the New World Order.

WCW Halloween Havoc 1996 Review

Dean Malenko defeated Rey Mysterio Jr. in the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship

The opening match was an instant classic. Under 20 minutes long, and yet better than most of the WWE cruiserweight matches that you’ve ever seen. Malenko put on a show with Mysterio. You haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen these guys clash for the title. Lots of great back and forth, lots of high spots, and Malenko’s psychology taking the passenger seat at times.

Diamond Dallas Page defeated Eddie Guerrero

This was a stiff match. It wasn’t that great at all. It had a lot of good moments, but let’s be honest, the two weren’t in their prime just yet.

The Giant defeated Jeff Jarrett by DQ

The Giant was able to win a match against Jeff Jarrett, but not without some interference and well, this was less than stellar in under 7 minutes.

Syxx defeated Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho should’ve won this back and forth match. Syxx was good, no doubt, but Jericho was shining here with a lot of crisp offense. It would eventually break down and Syxx would get the win, but barely. Great overall match, with under 10 minutes of action, but lots of great momentum shifts.

Lex Luger defeated Arn Anderson

The crowd was going nuts for this one. Arn Anderson was amazing here, and Lex Luger was put through a good overall match. At under 13 minutes, this was a fast moving, great back and forth match that played to the crowd at various levels. When Lex Luger put Anderson into the Torture Rack, things really gained a whole new level. The crowd blew up to all new levels, and it was a fun romp.

Steve McMichael and Chris Benoit defeated The Faces of Fear

This was a somewhat boring match. Meng and The Barbarian were monsters, and it showed here. The two were able to put on a hard hitting battle with the Four Horseman members, and it wasn’t half bad. Sure, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t half bad, good stuff if you like big man matches.

The Outsiders defeated Harlem Heat for the WCW Tag Team Championship

The Outsiders had good chemistry with Harlem Heat, and this match showed the two could work well together. Harlem Heat had too much going on with Sister Sherri and Col. Parker, and that led to their downfall here. Hall and Nash finally pick up the tag titles, and this would be a momentum swing for the New World Order.

Hollywood Hogan defeated Randy Savage in the WCW World Title Match

At under 20 minutes, this was less than classic between the two. However, the fans were all into this one. Randy Savage was blown up midway, and Hogan was not at his best either. But the two knew how to worked the crowd. I didn’t think this was a great match at all, but the fact that the two could get the crowd into a feeding frenzy was great to see. The match broke down into Randy Savage hitting two major elbows on Hogan, but Nick Patrick wouldn’t count the 3. That led to a break down, and eventually Hogan would win with interference from the New World Order. Oh, and Hogan had a wig on, it was great.

To end the show, Roddy Piper came to the ring, and things broke down. That would set up a feud between Hogan and Piper that would go into Superbrawl in February, but I already talked about that, and their match at Starrcade. You can click those links to see those reviews.

Overall, Halloween Havoc 1996 wasn’t that great. But it didn’t suck like most of the WCW events did in the mid 1990s. This was a great showcase of talent, and there was enough to keep me interested at times. The best match was the opener and the Lex Luger match. Other than that, this was an ok show. Get the VHS tape for the best version of this, not the WWE Network edited option.

Neville Stomped Out Mustafa Ali - SRC WWE.com
I’m doing what most people are not doing. I am watching and reviewing WWE 205 Live. I don’t know a lot of podcasts that even cover it, and they have their reasons. It’s stupid, but hey, I’m not a podcaster yet.

This week on 205 Live, we had a few backstage elements that moved the needle. Noam Dar said he wasn’t going to be sending gifts and insinuated that Rich Swann was sending them. Meanwhile, Jack Gallagher was teaching Swann how to be a gentleman. Good stuff there.

WWE 205 Live March 21, 2017 Review

Tony Nese defeated Tj Perkins

Nese is a star, he’s the total package if you ask me. He’s muscular and he’s athletic, and has a personality to boot. He shouldn’t be stuck in 205 hell, he should be on the Raw or Smackdown show doing his thing. Tj Perkins is great too. He put on a show here, but it was Nese that got the better of him with a mix of strong style and high flying. I’m a fan of Tony Nese thus far, and Perkins has an upside too. I hope they continue to give them time to wrestle, rather than 2 minute matches on Raw.

Akira Tozawa defeated Jobber

Tozawa beat up a jobber, nothing special.

Austin Aries interviewed himself

Aries is great on the mic, but I’m not convinced he’s that grand.

Neville defeated Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali! What a competitor. This guy is the shining star of NXT and boy, he put on a show. Neville was great too, but Mustafa Ali should be on Raw or Smackdown doing great things. He has all of the moves, all of the timing, and incredible elements that make a good wrestler. Go back and watch this match just for the suplexes, and the high flying elements that

WWE Smackdown Live March 21, 2017 Review

Aj Styles sat around the parking lot waiting for Shane McMahon, hoping he could again beat him up. He started the show in ring to talk. TO TALK! The same format as Raw, and the parody South Park did in the past.

The Usos defeated American Alpha for the World Tag Team Titles

Have you ever eaten a mayonnaise sandwich on white bread? That’s what American Alpha is like. The crowd was dying most of the time, and they perked up for The Usos. The Usos are over, but not as over as Heath Slater and Rhyno. The Tag Titles changed hands here in a good overall match. American Alpha seem like the Steiner’s at times, but they lack that charisma that the brothers had. The Usos won this match, and the tag team titles are an afterthought in this opener from Smackdown.
Randy Orton defeated Baron Corbin

Randy Orton was able to win a good back and forth match with Baron Corbin. This wasn’t a burial, mind you, it was a good match, with Dean Ambrose distracting Corbin in this one. It wasn’t grand, but hey, it was workable none the less.

Bray Wyatt almost Blew Randy Orton

Bray Wyatt kidnapped Randy Orton, then got on his knees as though he was going to blow the guy, and sung to him. B.S.

John Cena defeated Fandango

John Cena and Nikki Bella buried Breezdango. I kid you not. Tyler Breeze came out dressed like Nikki, the real Nikki came out and then buried him, while Cena buried Fandango. I wish this was an exaggeration. It’s not. This really happened.

Carmella vs. Becky Lynch went to a no contest

The match barely went a minute or two. The best part here was the melee of women that ensued, all of the women coming out to fight. But that wasn’t the best part of it, the best was Becky Lynch coming off the top rope and hitting James Ellsworth with a missile dropkick. That was awesome! I marked out huge.

Aj Styles was buried by Shane McMahon

The end of the show featured Aj Styles getting buried by Shane McMahon. I kid you not. Aj Styles got hit with a flurry of slaps and random punches, only to get throw out of the ring and beaten up. Then Shane went to the top rope and drove Styles through a table. If this is not a burial, you don’t know what it means to be buried.

Shane McMahon is NOT a wrestler. Aj Styles went from headlining, being the champion, to basically getting buried by a non-wrestler, son of the owner. What a load of crap. This is supposed to get me excited about Wrestlemania? Lame. Absolutely lame.

Smackdown is not the B show, it’s the C or D show of the WWE line up. What a garbage showcase.

WWE Raw March 20, 2017 Results and Review Throw Logic Out The Window Again

Undertaker Looked Awful On Raw, It's Time To Retire - SRC WWE.COM
I am late on posting this review because I was held up by someone wanting to pay me to link to their page. They pulled out like Xavier Woods did with that Paige leak, oh wait, he didn’t pull out. Point is, I am late, no thanks to an SEO company that wanted a backlink. Lame.

Moving forward, March 20 was a great time to be alive, because Raw was going to be in Brooklyn, and the Paige leaks were going to get a lot of attention from the crowd, right? Well, that didn’t exactly happen because WWE knows how to silence crowds in production, and that’s exactly what happened on this show. If you were looking for a logic based wrestling show, you’re going to absolutely want to avoid going back and watching this one, it was about as awful as it can be.

The Brian Kendrick defeated Tj Perkins
Nia Jax defeated Bayley in a No DQ Match
Cesaro and Sheamus defeated Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and Enzo and Cass
Austin Aries defeated Tony Nese
Braun Strowman defeated Roman Reigns via disqualification

WWE Raw March 20, 2017 Review

The show opened with a talking segment, and I for one am tired of this sort of start to the shows. I miss the days where you would get wrestling and just that. Nope, that’s not what you’re going to get with WWE any longer. You’re going to get drawn out talking segments, which are usually awful. With this opening, Stephanie McMahon fired Mick Foley.

This prompted Sami Zayn to come out and run his mouth, and McMahon to bury him by putting him in a match with Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe defeated Sami Zayn

Samoa Joe put the boots to Zayn. Zayn did get a few shots in, but it was painfully obvious that Samoa Joe was going to beat Zayn yet again. He won this match by making him pass out. Zayn is a glorified jobber, and that’s really sad. They are wasting his talent. I hope he’s getting paid well, though.

Charlotte Flair defeated Dana Brooke

I was cheering for Dana Brooke. I love her, and I don’t know why. Charlotte didn’t immediately bury Brooke, but definitely had to fight to win this match. Brooke, in my view, should’ve had more offense and being Charlotte’s protégé, should have gotten very close to winning. Flair wins, and that’s the end of Dana, right?

The Brian Kendrick defeated Tj Perkins

This match would have been a barn burner just a few month’s back. Tonight, however, it was short and sweet, and that’s the end of that.

Nia Jax defeated Bayley in a No DQ Match

Bayley was backstage and was run down by Stephanie McMahon. She was put in this match against Nia Jax, and that’s when I remembered. The Women’s Champion is a 12 year old girl. What the hell? Don’t try to think too hard, you’ll break your neck. Nia Jax beat the crap out of Bayley and will be facing off against the rest of the women at Wrestlemania.

Cesaro and Sheamus defeated Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and Enzo and Cass

The Club Sandwich boys were buried in about a minute. They were buried, don’t argue with me. Karl Anderson, the guy that was main event caliber talent in Japan is jobbing fast on Raw. I hope he’s getting paid well.

Austin Aries defeated Tony Nese

I don’t see the big deal with Austin Aries. Tony Nese, however, I have seen time and time again impress the hell out of me. Austin will need to put on a tremendous match at Wrestlemania, otherwise, I don’t care for him, and his bravado. A fast match here, but nothing that stands out in my memory.

Braun Strowman defeated Roman Reigns via disqualification

Braun Strowman was set to get his win back, right? Nope. He was going to get buried again, and you can’t let Roman Reigns look weak. Strowman won this match via disqualification when Old Man Undertaker showed up. Undertaker looked awful. He was slow moving, fat, and he winced taking a simple bump. He then winced when he took the spear, and it just looked awful. Strowman is lost here, and I don’t understand how the WWE can continually bury talent after letting them taste a little crowd interaction.

Raw had more questions than answers folks. Like why would Bayley care if Nia Jax was in the match or not? Why did we see Sasha Banks and Charlotte watch matches sideways? Why is Braun Strowman not involved in Wrestlemania? Why are there only 4 women on Raw? Why hasn’t Chris Jericho defended his title in more than 30 days? Why are the Cruiserweights treated like second class citizens? Why is the wrestling on this show so short?

Oh well. You’ll watch it and you’ll like it. We all will. What a lackluster show folks. Smackdown wasn’t all that better if you ask me. But alas, people think it was.

WCW Souled Out 1997 Results and Review

Poster From The Event - Pretty Cool For 1997, Honestly

In 1997 big changes hit the professional wrestling world. In the WWF at the time, Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin were getting ready to switch places. The Undertaker, Vader, and several others were caught up in the main event scene, with Wrestlemania 13 going to be a big one that was set up by a lot of frustrating booking. Meanwhile, WCW had been booming with the introduction of the New World Order. The NWO was so big, that they decided to throw Souled Out in January, and the first edition was all New World Order themed. Everything from the mat, the lighting, to the structure of the matches were in favor of the NWO and it was great in my view.

This event took place on January 25, 1997 and it had an attendance of 5,120. If you look at the PPV, the venue was absolutely packed, and it was a very cool building to have a show. The crowd went nuts from time to time, but it wasn’t as hectic as some other events that would come through in 1997 from WCW< but it still had a good crowd. With that in mind, let’s consider the matches, and a review of this big event.

WCW Souled Out 1997 Results

Masahiro Chono defeated Chris Jericho
Big Bubba Rogers defeated Hugh Morris in a Mexican Death Match
Jeff Jarrett defeated Mr. Wallstreet
Buff Bagwell defeated Scotty Riggs
Scott Norton defeated Diamond Dallas Page via Countout
The Steiner Brothers defeated The Outsiders for the WCW World Tag Team Championship
Eddie Guerrero defeated Syxx in a ladder match for the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship
Hollywood Hogan fought The Giant to a no contest in the WCW World Championship Match

WCW Souled Out 1997 Review

Masahiro Chono defeated Chris Jericho

At the time, WCW had a partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling. They had talent come through to face off against their homegrown talent, and this was one of those matches. Jericho was fighting against Chono’s strong style, and it was definitely stiff. There were a few moments where you could tell Jericho and Chono had a language gap, and you could feel the pain that Jericho was getting into for this one. A decent opener, but Chono got the big win for NWO Japan.

Big Bubba Rogers defeated Hugh Morris in a Mexican Death Match

I’m always surprised by how athletic Big Bubba was. Not only that, Hugh Morris had one of the best moonsaults in the industry. This match was fun, under 10 minutes, hard hitting, fast moving, and interesting to watch, but nothing too grand on the line.

Jeff Jarrett defeated Mr. Wallstreet

This was a boring point in the night. The fans didn’t care for either one of these guys, and honestly, neither did I. A standard wrestling match, with nothing too grand to report here.

Buff Bagwell defeated Scotty Riggs

This is a significant match because Riggs and Bagwell were separating. The American Males were no longer and the two were feuding as a result. Buff joined the New World Order and Riggs wouldn’t get much of a push until he got involved in a feud with Raven towards November of 1997. Riggs would be a glorified jobber on WCW television until then. Oh, this match was cool, hard hitting, and back and forth, but in the end Riggs would lose to Buff.

Scott Norton defeated Diamond Dallas Page via Countout

Norton was a beast. This match was hard hitting, and DDP did his best to entertain the crowd, but Norton wasn’t selling nearly as much, and well, he would eventually win.

A Note On The Miss NWO Contest

Throughout the show there was a showcase of middle-age women that were going to be Miss New World Order. This was lame, and everyone involved said it was lame in shoot interviews. This was stupid, and really broke up the flow of the show.

The Steiner Brothers defeated The Outsiders for the WCW World Tag Team Championship

The Steiner Brothers were getting a bit older here, and it showed. Scott was going to turn into Big Poppa Pump soon, but before that, the Steiners put on a nice match with The Outsiders. Hall and Nash were not really working hard in their matches in WCW, at least not every single time they tagged together. This was evident in this match. There were a few good spots, but overall, the Steiners had little to work with out of Hall and Nash. That didn’t matter, the match got the crowd going, and the title change was a great option, even if it was only one night.

Eddie Guerrero defeated Syxx in a ladder match for the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship

Guerrero and Syxx put on a showcase of some serious talent. This is a five star classic if you ask me. I know it’s not as high flying as some of the more recent ladder matches, but for 1997, this was an incredible match, with a lot of pain involved. Syxx’s heel kick from the top of the ladder is worth the price of admission alone. Guerrero taking bumps like crazy was interesting, and overall this match was absolutely a show stopper.

Hollywood Hogan fought The Giant to a no contest in the WCW World Championship Match

Hogan fought the Giant to a really cool match. I suggest watching all of the matches that The Giant had in WCW because he works very differently than when he was in WWE. Remember, the WWE forced him to not only change his style, but also retrain in OVW after his stellar year in 2000. Whatever the case may be, this match was entertaining, and the crowd ate it up. The end came when the ref, aligned with the NWO, wouldn’t count the 3 and Giant got mad and beat him up. The whole New World Order would come out and get choke slammed one by one for their trouble, and this match just ended in a no contest. The crowd kept chanting for Sting, and he never showed up. The New World Order would get the last laugh as they beat up the Giant, pulled his pants down and wrote NWO across his back. No joke.

Final Thoughts on NWO Souled Out 1997

This was a cool match, I love it. I think that above all else, the ladder match was incredible. Syxx gets a lot of crap for who he was and is, but if you watch this match, you’ll realize that the guy could really wrestle. He put on a show with Guerrero, and the two really did a fine job with the ladder. Not a lot of spots like today, but more psychology and movement, great stuff.

The VHS copies of this event are rare, so you’ll have to look into picking it up on the WWE network, sorry folks.

WCW WrestleWar 1992: WarGames Results and Review

The year was 1992 and the WCW promotion wasn’t as big as the WWF at the time. If you weren’t watching WWF, then you probably weren’t a wrestling fan in most areas. But if you loved wrestling, and you knew about WCW, you were mega hyped for this event. WrestleWar 1992 is one of the most coveted of VHS tapes and it has one of the best matches of all time. The show had a lot of matches, but the main focal point was the main event featuring Sting’s Squadron vs. The Dangerous Alliance which was managed by Paul E. Dangerously and Madusa. Yes, those two!

Now, in regards to the show, it took place on May 17, 1992, and there were 6,000 people jam packed into the arena. The crowd went absolutely nuts for some of this, and for others, not so much. The commentary team was Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura, two of the best. With that in mind, let’s see how this went down and my review.

WCW WrestleWar 1992: WarGames Results

The Freebirds defeated Terry Taylor and Greg Valentine for the WCW United States Tag Team Championship
Johnny B. Badd defeated Tracy Smothers
Scotty Flamingo defeated Buff Bagwell
Ron Simmons defeated Mr. Hughes

Sting’s Squadron defeated The Dangerous Alliance

WCW WrestleWar 1992: WarGames Review

The Freebirds defeated Terry Taylor and Greg Valentine for the WCW United States Tag Team Championship

If you haven’t seen a Freebirds match, you have to watch this match. This was a fast paced, back and forth match with the Freebirds getting so much praise that it’s amazing. You’ll hear the crowd go nuts for everything the Freebirds did. Not only that, Taylor and Valentine were great at putting the boots to the good guys here. The champs lose this one, and you get a huge uproar of praise.

Johnny B. Badd defeated Tracy Smothers

Tracy Smothers is so fast here, it’s impressive. For such a bigger guy, he was running through Badd at times. Badd was able to reverse things and fight, but it was Smothers that really shined in this match.

Scotty Flamingo defeated Buff Bagwell

I don’t like watching Raven as Scotty Flamingo, but hey, we were all young once. Buff Bagwell wasn’t called Buff here, and he lost as the guys mentioned he was still somewhat new in WCW.

Ron Simmons defeated Mr. Hughes

An ok big man’s match, nothing too great here, but hey it works.

The Super Invader defeated Todd Champion

Did you know that the Super Invader was Hercules from WWF? He squashed Todd Champion in this match, so that was that.

Big Josh defeated Richard Morton

A throwaway match. Big Josh wins another squash.

Brian Pillman defeated Tom Zenk in the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship

Zenk is an underrated wrestler. Brian Pillman was able to knock him out after some back and forth, but this match was a testament to the power that WCW had in their early 1990s roster. This was a serious fight, and something that is well worth exploring. Pillman is a gem, and he can really make you cheer for him. Zenk is surprisingly agile, and I wonder why he never made a splash in WWE.

The Steiner Brothers defeated Tatsumi Fujinami and Takayuki Iizuka

A great match with the young Steiners. In their prime, they could go, and it showed. The Japanese stars were fighting strong style, and put the boots to the Steiners, but they would not be denied the victory. If you love tag team wrestling, this is one hell of a match to watch. It was hard hitting, fast paced, and just impressive. The Steiners were so good in their youth.

Sting’s Squadron defeated The Dangerous Alliance

Stings Squadron consisted of: Sting, Barry Windham, Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat and Nikita Koloff

And the Dangerous Alliance consisted of:

Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton and Larry Zbyszko (with Paul E. Dangerously and Madusa

This was a brutal match. There is nothing else to really say about it, it was brutal. Every guy in this match took a beating. Lots of power moves, lots of blood, great back and forth. The Alliance had the upper hand at one point, but it was one false move that cost them in the end. The Heel team here were monsters, these were grade A monsters, and Stings guys had a bit of infighting before they got into the cage and really tore it up. You owe it to yourself to see this match. It’s only 24 minutes long, but what you get is an insane pro wrestling match that the WWF couldn’t top in 1992, no matter what anyone says. This is a war, loved every minute of it.

The Bottom Line on WCW WrestleWar 1992

Don’t get this on the network if you can help it. You can watch it on there, but the unedited VHS is better. Overall, this was a great example of just how good WCW was in the early 1990s. You’re going to be absolutely thrilled with some of these matches, even though there was a bit of filler here and there. That main event though, wow, what a match. 5 stars from everyone that’s seen it.

You can get this match and more with the WCW War Games BLU RAY Here.

WWE NXT March 16, 2017 Review

The Authors of Pain defeated The Ealy Brothers

This night opened up with a challenge, and that challenge was answered. I didn’t think the Ealy Brothers could win and well…they didn’t.

Nikki Cross defeated Macey Estrella

Nikki Cross is a hot commodity. She’s also very cute, and well, crazy. She beat the snot out of Macey Estrella, and I thought she was going to get disqualified after hitting her finisher more than 4 times in a row. She got the pinfall, and that was that.

Post match, No Way Jose and Tye Dillinger came out to try and beat up Sanity, but that was thwarted and they beat everyone down. I guess this will set up a match for NXT Takeover Orlando.

Asuka Promo

They ran an Asuka promo which was really cool. However, she can’t speak English. She can’t go very far in the United States without that element. I hope she’s working on her ESL because if she gets called up, she will get eaten alive by the talkers on the main stage, I’m sorry.

Bobby Roode defeated Kassius Ohno (NXT Championship Match)

The main event featured Kassius Ohno’s title shot for the NXT Championship. This is how you book a main event title match. Roode was baffled by Ohno’s offense. He was hitting on all cylinders, and while Roode had a few shots, Ohno was getting over huge here. Everything he threw at Roode was a haymaker, including the finale, but alas, one slip up and Roode hit the incredible DDT and that was that. Ohno loses, but with a valiant effort and a stellar match for the title.

Overall, NXT is a no nonsense wrestling program that you should check out. I loved it. You will love it, most likely. The title match alone is worth checking out this week.

Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari defeated Rich Swann and Gentleman Jack Gallagher
Austin Aries defeated Tj Perkins, The Brian Kendrick, Akira Tozawa, and Tony Nese in a 5 way

WWE 205 Live March 14, 2017 Review

Mustafa Ali defeated Drew Gulak

Mustafa Ali may be the most underrated wrestler in WWE. Ok, a lot of the guys are underrated. Drew Gulak showed some serious momentum at one point in this match, but was the inverted 450 that took him out. You have to see this move, it’s absolutely stunning. I’m absolutely impressed with the execution every single time. Ali gets the win and Gulak gets frustrated after the fact, yelling into the mic that 205 sucks essentially.

Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari defeated Rich Swann and Gentleman Jack Gallagher

A good match with Noam Dar and Daivari getting their win back. Dar is so good with his selling, and Daivari’s vendetta against Jack Gallagher is great. Rich Swann’s charisma is great too, and all of these guys are fun to watch. This match had a lot of fast moving action, and through it all we were left wondering about Alicia Fouxxxxx. I love Dar’s accent, and this match was good too. Great stuff.

Austin Aries defeated Tj Perkins, The Brian Kendrick, Akira Tozawa, and Tony Nese in a 5 way

What a battle. The 5 way matches on 205 Live are incredible. This was another great one. Every man is over with the crowd here. Tozawa is great, his yelling has grown on me. Nese is a specimen of greatness, and Kendrick as the all out heel is great too. Aries hasn’t grown on me, and I don’t see his appeal just yet. But his finisher and elbow from the top is great. My only major critique here is the constant suicide dives every wrestler does, I’m tired of those. Other than that, this was a great match that should get more views.

Overall, 205 Live is a great wrestling show, and if you’re not watching it, I feel sorry for you. The guys on this show are absolutely talented and should get more attention. Aries and Neville is booked for Mania and should be an interesting match to watch. I don’t expect Aries to win, yet.

Shane McMahon Nearly Died Again - SRC WWE.Com
Everyone keeps harping on this notion that Smackdown is the better show. Nope. Once again, this show felt like a lighter version of Raw, with more talking segments than I can remember, and a lot of stupid elements. They’ve got a crowd of tens of thousands of people booing Daniel Bryan, they have a part timer, if you can call him that in Shane McMahon, and you have a floundering mid card of forgettable idiots. This night on Smackdown, you had to really want to watch it, because if you didn’t, too bad, they were going to shove you into a lot of garbage. Daniel Bryan interrupted, and that started the show with Styles going to the ring and cutting a promo about how he needed to talk to McMahon about lost opportunities. Sound familiar? This is exactly how Raw starts each week.

Becky Lynch defeated Natalya

They keep making Natalya look like a chump. She just went through Nikki Bella, putting on some great matches with the so called Queen of Strong Style, and yet here she is, losing to Lynch? Lynch is supposed to have momentum? But yet she wins here and then gets punked out Carmella? Whatever. Good match though, not as good as the ending of last week’s tag match though. I thought Natalya should’ve done the release German suplex again if you ask me.

John Cena and Nikki Bella were on the MIZ TV Segment

This was dumb. We are going to get Miz get buried at Wrestlemania, right? I don’t want to see this at all. Miz is doing well as a company man, but he is wasted in this feud.

Mickie James defeated Alexa Bliss

Do the champions ever look strong on these shows? Bliss loses to James, the same woman that couldn’t beat Becky Lynch in a 2 out of 3 falls match, and whom gets punked out all the time. This makes no logical sense. How do you make a champion look strong if they lose all the non-title matches?

AJ Styles throws Shane through a glass car window

This segment was ok, I guess. Aj Styles has this incredible aggression now? This is going to lead to a match that I don’t want to see, you don’t want to see, and shouldn’t be on the show at all.

Mojo Rawley defeated Dolph Ziggler by count out

What the hell is this? Ziggler quits? Good riddance. He loses by count out, and Rawley is left to be hyped by himself.

Bray Wyatt and Orton did a lot of talking

This was dumb. I didn’t want to see this. Orton talked about how he was the Viper and he was a slippery snake, and Wyatt rubbed himself with dirt. Who gives a flying F?

The Usos defeated American Alpha

This should’ve stole the show. Instead, WWE decided to keep cutting away from the match to show Shane McMahon, then commercials, and the match was a boring one. The Usos won via pinfall again, beating the champions in a non-title match. American Alpha has amazing talent, but the WWE is not giving them any favors having to job out to the Usos here.

The very last moments of the show had Shane McMahon saying that Aj Styles had an opponent for Wrestlemania. It leads to them fighting, I’m sure. But remember, earlier in the show Daniel Bryan fired Aj Styles.

What a cluster of terrible elements. The wrestling was shortened, Mauro wasn’t in the booth, and this was just Raw Lite. This year’s road to Wrestlemania may be the worst in History folks, and this was terrible, if you ask me, simple as that.

WWE Monday Night Raw March 13, 2017 Results and Review Waste of Our Time

Rollins Is Hurt? Not Likely - SRC WWE.COM
Raw came to us from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan and from what I’m told it’s the last time. The arena may be getting bulldozed or something, but whatever the case may be, last night Raw was live and in stereo. I had high hopes for the night, but what ended up being pushed through was absolute garbage. There was a lot to complain about on this Raw, and wow, what a big level of b.s. and here we go.

WWE Monday Night Raw March 13, 2017 Review

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman revealed the “Theory of WrestleMania Relativity”

I am not a fan of wrestling shows opening with guys talking. This night opened up with some absolutely tremendous b.s! Heyman came out to say that Lesnar will win at Wrestlemania. Brock Lesnar, the guy that has been punked out twice now, is going to win at Wrestlemania? I am STILL going to say that Bill Goldberg will win the match at Mania.

Sasha Banks def. Dana Brooke

This match was supposed to help Charlotte Flair. Flair told Brooke to make sure that Sasha could not continue moving forward to their match at Wrestlemania. But what happened? Brooke got beat down and lost in a fast match.

After the match, Flair was in the ring berating Brooke for losing, but Brooke turned and beat up the former women’s champion to an uproar from the crowd. I liked that!

The Brian Kendrick and Tony Nese def. Akira Tozawa and TJ Perkins

The cruiserweights once again put on a show. This was a fast paced, knock out match with some great timing. Even though Kendrick and Nese won, Perkins and Tozawa put on a great show of moves, and it was fun to watch. I really liked this match.

U.S. Champion Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn def. Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe via Disqualification

This match came after Kevin Owens did a longwinded speech about how he was going to beat Jericho. Then out came Samoa Joe and a straight up tag team match took shape. Jericho and Zayn tagged together, because they are now friends? This match ended in a disqualification, and that’s that. I guess Joe and Owens are the new hit crew? I don’t care for them, and Jericho is signaling a loss at Mania.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Cesaro and Sheamus ended in a No Contest

This match didn’t get going too far, as the Club Sandwich boys came out and beat up the two tag teams. Foley got mad and made a triple threat match for the titles at Mania.

Roman Reigns def. Jinder Mahal

Jinder My Balls lost. Reigns wins again, simple as that.

Shawn Michaels came out after the fact. HBK told Reigns that Undertaker is in his head, and that he better watch out. Reigns was ok here, but it was mostly a loss.

Austin Aries def. Ariya Daivari

This match was slow moving, and that was that. It was forgettable to say the least.

Big Show def. Titus O'Neil

Ugh, The BIG SLOW beat up Titus O’Neil. Lame.

Raw Women's Champion Bayley def. Nia Jax via Disqualification

Another bad match. Jax got disqualified and that’s that. She was back stage saying that she should be getting a title shot, and instead got this match, bulldozing Bayley. The same Nia Jax that couldn’t beat Sasha Banks at Fastlane is now just bulldozing Bayley, who cares.

Raw General Manager Mick Foley tried to fire Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon

And then we came to the end. Mick Foley said that Stephanie McMahon should be fired. Then Stephanie said no, and out came Triple H. Triple H came out and berated Foley. Foley was about to leave when he came out with Mr. Socko and put it into H! The crowd went nuts, and that prompted limpy Mcgee Seth Rollins. He threw away his crutch and then beat up Triple H for a minute before Triple H took the crutch and smashed Rollins across the knee and then beat him up. That was the end of Raw.

This night of 3 hours of Raw had very little wrestling. It was boring to say the least. Rollins doesn’t have a legit knee injury folks. I have one, and can say that it’s not so simple to get back into the ring like that. Whatever the case is, Raw was a boring, diluted, convoluted showcase of bad wrestling. Oh well. If you saw it, did you like it? I didn’t. I feel like it was a waste of my time.

WWF Wrestlemania X7 Results and Review Stone Cold Turns Super Heel

The Astrodome played home for the biggest event of 2001. This was the biggest Wrestlemania in my memory. In 2001, the WWF was riding all time high attendance, and ratings. WCW was no competition, and no one could hold a candle to what the WWF was doing with the Attitude Era. This event went live on April 1, 2001 and I watched it live with my friends Lump and Carlo Moss. I’m sure they are out there somewhere. What’s up guys?!

This had some hits and misses, like any other event, but the big main event really had things going over the top. The gross ticket sales amounted to 3.4 million dollars, and nearly 70,000 people saw this live. I would’ve gone, had I been able to, that’s for sure. If you’re a fan of Limp Bizkit, then you’ll love that the show kept playing “My Way”. Anyways, here is how it all went down and my thoughts about the matches.

WWF Wrestlemania X7 Results

Chris Jericho defeated William Regal (Intercontinental Championship Match)
Tazz and the APA defeated Right To Censor
Kane defeated Raven and The Big Show (Hardcore Title Match)
Eddie Guerrero defeated Test (European Title Match)
Kurt Angle defeated Chris Benoit
Chyna defeated Ivory (Women’s Title Match)
Shane McMahon defeated Mr. McMahon in a Street Fight (with Mick Foley as referee)
Edge and Christian defeated The Dudleys, and The Hardys
The Iron Sheik won a gimmick Battle Royal
The Undertaker defeated Triple H
Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Rock (WWF Title)

WWF Wrestlemania X7 Review

NOTE: There was a dark match for Sunday Night Heat, but they didn’t show it for the full event, and on the network, sorry.

Chris Jericho defeated William Regal (Intercontinental Championship Match)

This was an odd choice to open the show, if you ask me. The two men are great at what they do, but this was less than exciting. It was more mat based than anything, even though Jericho was doing some of his normal flying through the air. Regal was definitely doing his hard style English wrestling, so that was interesting against Jericho’s flights. Jericho would get the win and Regal would lose another shot at the IC Title.

Tazz and the APA defeated Right To Censor

This 4 minue match was fun, and should’ve been the opener if you ask me. When Tazz came out the crowd went ballistic, alongside the APA. Right To Censor died a death here, and all members got beat down by Tazz and the APA. Bradshaw’s clotheslines are scary, he probably would’ve knocked me the hell out. Fast paced, to the point, only 4 minutes of action, but well worth it.

Kane defeated Raven and The Big Show (Hardcore Title Match)

My favorite wrestler growing up was Raven. Well, my teenage years anyways. This match was fun. A brawl that went through the back. Watch out for Raven getting thrown through a window, Big Show getting thrown through a wall, and Kane jumping off the stage for the win. This was a wild brawl that was a testament to the Hardcore Title back in the day.

Eddie Guerrero defeated Test (European Title Match)

This was not a great match. Test did an ok job with Guerrero, but this felt really forced. I didn’t really like it that match, and if you remember the storylines. Test is lumbering, and Guerrero did his best, but this match didn’t feel that great, and the crowd wasn’t as over. Guerrero had better matches in WWF, this wasn’t one of them.

Kurt Angle defeated Chris Benoit

This was a stellar mat wrestling match. This was two wrestlers in their primes, and they traded suplexes, slams, and more. Kurt Angle would get the win, but not without Benoit going down swinging. This was no doubt one of the better matches on the card.

Chyna defeated Ivory (Women’s Title Match)

A burial. This went a little over than 2 minutes and it was bad.

Shane McMahon defeated Mr. McMahon in a Street Fight (with Mick Foley as referee)

In only 15 minutes, Shane McMahon and Vince put on a street fight for the ages. This was so great, and the two basically got out all of their aggression. It was absolutely insane. You have to see this match. Shane and Vince busted wide open, Foley trying to control things. Linda McMahon crotch shots, so much more. This was pure hell, and just insane. Great stuff here.

Edge and Christian defeated The Dudleys, and The Hardys

If the Street Fight wasn’t enough, this match won you over in about 16 minutes. These three teams went toe to toe in a TLC match. Every hit here had to hurt, and every fall was insane. The guys threw themselves around so much, I had no idea how they were still standing afterwards. Triple table breaks, ladder shots, and falls that were just too much. Edge and Christian got a little help, and won, but wow, what a match.

The Iron Sheik won a gimmick Battle Royal

There were 18 people that came down for this match including Repo Man, Earthquake, The Goon, Kamala, Brother Love, Jim Cornette, and so many others. Sheik won by eliminating Hillbilly Jim, and this was just filler but fun no doubt.

The Undertaker defeated Triple H

This was not a good match. The Undertaker and Triple H put on a slow moving, boring match if you ask me. It was a brawl, it went into the crowd, Triple H used the sledgehammer, but it was far from their battles that would come down the line for retirement. Undertaker was great here, Triple H was carrying too much weight if you ask me.

Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated The Rock (WWF Title)

Holy crap. 30 minutes of pure good wrestling. Austin couldn’t put away The Rock, he just couldn’t do it. So he eventually had the help of Vince McMahon. Jim Ross called it best, “Steve Austin is shaking hands with Satan himself!”. Whatever the case was, the crowd went absolutely nuts for the near falls in this match, and the end, holy crap, holy crap. When Austin won, even with Vince’s help, the crowd went ballistic, and just so much fun.

Final Verdict

WWF Wrestlemania X7 is by far one of the best events that the WWF has ever put together. I loved it. It was absolutely fun. If you find this on dvd, you have to get it. The edits from the network are dumb, and they don’t give you the Sunday Night Heat match. Great overall event though, man this was fun. I’d watch it again, no doubt.

WCW Beach Blast 1993 Results and Review Davey Boy Smith Explodes

WCW Beach Blast 1993 VHS Cover - Classic!
WCW Beach Blast 1993 was one of those shows that you either saw or you didn’t even know existed. Now that the WWE Network has all the major WCW events, you can watch it. I went back to watch this and was absolutely fascinated by the whole thing.

WCW Beach Blast 1993 was live from the Biloxi, Mississippi and there were 8,600 people in the arena for this one. The event was promoted with a mini-movie, one which Wrestling With Wregret and Colt Cabana made fun of (video below). This event was interesting in a lot of ways, mainly for the final matches, although there are some gems up front. We’ll talk about this, and well, it’s not as bad as some people may think.

WCW Beach Blast 1993 Results

Paul Orndorff (c) defeated Ron Simmons by disqualification WCW World Television Championship
2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Bagwell defeated Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce
Lord Steven Regal (with Sir William Dundee) defeated Erik Watts
Johnny B. Badd defeated Maxx Payne
The Hollywood Blonds (Brian Pillman and Steve Austin) (c) defeated The Four Horsemen (Paul Roma and Arn Anderson) Tag team match for the WCW World Tag Team Championship
Dustin Rhodes fought Rick Rude to a draw 1-1 30 Minute Iron Man Challenge for the vacant WCW United States Heavyweight Championship
Ric Flair defeated Barry Windham (c) Singles match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship
The Superpowers (Sting and Davey Boy Smith) defeated The Masters of the Power Bomb (Big Van Vader and Sid Vicious; with Harley Race and Col. Robert Parker)

WCW Beach Blast 1993 Results and Review

Paul Orndorff (c) defeated Ron Simmons by disqualification WCW World Television Championship

Ron Simmons was a big deal in WCW, but this match wasn’t that good. Simmons was nursing injuries in the 1990s, and it showed. Orndorff was not in his prime here, and he was gassed towards the end here. This match was ok, ended in disqualification and left me thinking, what would have happened if Orndorff stayed in WWE?

2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Bagwell defeated Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce

2 Cold Scorpio is so much fun to watch. Buff Bagwell and the other idiots are lost here. Oh and did you know the other guys are the Godwinns from WWE? Yeah. Ok match, 12 minutes, 2 Cold Scorpio is the best here.

Lord Steven Regal (with Sir William Dundee) defeated Erik Watts

Erik Watts! The son of the booker man from the territory days, and about as exciting as mayonnaise on toast. Steven Regal was good here, with some stiff offense, before winning big here in under 10 minutes.

Johnny B. Badd defeated Maxx Payne

Not a fun match here, it was adequate. Payne was ok, but he’s better when tagging with Cactus Jack.

The Hollywood Blonds (Brian Pillman and Steve Austin) (c) defeated The Four Horsemen (Paul Roma and Arn Anderson) Tag team match for the WCW World Tag Team Championship

Brian Pillman and Steve Austin were on drugs, right? They were flying around the ring, bumping for Arn and Paul like they just drank a whole pot of coffee. This was a fast moving match, and I was thoroughly impressed with Pillman and Austin’s tags, as well as Paul and Arn’s quick counters. The Arn Anderson spine buster is absolutely brutal, holy crap. Nearly 30 minutes, a great overall tag title match with the Blonds winning.

Dustin Rhodes fought Rick Rude to a draw 1-1 30 Minute Iron Man Challenge for the vacant WCW United States Heavyweight Championship

Rick Rude and Dustin Rhodes went 30 minutes to a draw, and I swear it’s a full 30 minutes. It was slow at times, then there were moments of excitement, but this was not as good as you’d think. Rude is so much better than WWE’s version here, even though he’s not playing the same character. He’s more hairy here, and he looks to have lost a little weight. Dustin is pre-goldust, and it shows. Good stuff, up front, but the two were gassed towards the 25 minute mark.

Ric Flair defeated Barry Windham (c) Singles match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship

You would think that this match would’ve been great, but nope. Not sure what happened here, it was a boring title match, and though Flair bumped a lot, Windham just seemed stiff at times. Under 12 minutes, and it just wasn’t exciting to watch, I’m sorry.

The Superpowers (Sting and Davey Boy Smith) defeated The Masters of the Power Bomb (Big Van Vader and Sid Vicious; with Harley Race and Col. Robert Parker)

Here we go, the main event! This match was stellar. I was surprised how well it worked out, especially with two giants on one end. Sting was flying around and bumping like crazy for Vader and Vicious. The first 5 minutes had Vicious looking better than any WWE home grown talent. His choke slam on Sting with 1 hand was absolutely brutal. Davey Boy Smith impressed with some amazing power moves. The delayed suplex on Vader will absolutely drop your jaw. The crowd went nuts, as he had Vader up high for quite some time. I was impressed. Remember this is 1 year after Summerslam 1992, which is weird to think about. Davey Boy Smith and Sting won big.

Overall, WCW Beach Blast 1993 was great fun. The first four matches were boring, but the last set were fun to watch. I was surprised by how much fun it was to watch some of these guys. Steve Austin and Pillman over the Horseman was great, Rude in WCW was always interesting, and the main event was a lot of fun. It’s so weird to see Davey Boy Smith in WCW, especially after Summerslam 1992. Good stuff here. I did notice minor edits on the network, so pick up the vhs tape.
