WWE Smackdown Live November 28, 2017 Results and Review The Dumpster Fire Round Two

src wwe dot com
Well, if Raw felt like 9 hours long, this show felt like at least 4 hours long. So much so that I didn’t want to finish it, but had to because this site is the longest running episodic blog on pro wrestling. There was even a time when this site was bigger than the Jim Ross blog! Those were the salad days, but tonight, let’s discuss yesterday’s Smackdown, which was another dumpster fire of stuff to discuss.

WWE Smackdown Live November 28, 2017 Results and Review

Remember when Shane McMahon said that the Smackdown show wasn’t going to be about the general managers and the McMahon’s? He lied. Here he is starting the show and bringing out Daniel Bryan. The two jib jab about how Zayn and Owens weren’t fired, when they should’ve been fired, and that led them to create a match for later on. They said that the main event would be Kevin Owens against Randy Orton in a NO DQ match, with Sami Zayn barred from ringside. Then the show continued into the wrestling portion, which, well, was not that great.

The New Day defeated Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable

This was a good match, and the New Day is always fun to watch. Big E came out with pancakes and syrup for the Usos, whom were at ringside. That was gross. The match was your standard back and forth, with a lot of reversals, high spots, and more. It wasn’t great, but it didn’t suck. I am tired of the New Day by now, and am just ready for them to stop doing what they are doing and move on to literally anything else. Benjamin and Gable did a great back and forth, fast tag quick match overall, but honestly, this just felt empty at the end. The New Day would get the win with their finish, and that was that.

The Bludgeon Brothers defeated The Hype Bros

This was a burial. After the match, Mojo turned on Zack Ryder and that was that. The end of the Hype Bros, and the continued success of the Bludgeon Brothers.

Aj Styles defeated The Singh Brothers in a Handicap Match

Before the match started, The Modern Day Maharaja, Jinder Mahal came in and beat the socks off Styles. I like Jinder, let’s get more Jinder! Don’t hinder the Jinder! Jinder Mahal throws some wicked offense here, and then lets the Singh Brothers clean up. Aj Styles eventually got his bearings and then knocked out the Singh Brothers and delivered a top rope Styles Clash! This was awesome! Great finish, and that’s that. After the match Jinder Mahal beat up his cronies, and then walked away. Styles may have met his match for the big PPV coming up.

The Riott Squad defeated Charlotte Flair, Natalya, and Naomi

Well, the new girls got in the ring on this show, and was able to knock out the roster’s best women, and that was that. They were ok, faster and younger than the established stars, and won overall. This was entertaining, but it was a quick match, so on that note, it was a highlight, but nothing to write home about I guess.

Kevin Owens defeated Randy Orton in a NO DQ Match

And away we go, a fight. This was a fist fight and a brawl with Kevin Owens getting a huge beat down for the most part. Orton was showcasing that he was mad, and he was hitting Owens with heavy barreled shots until Owens got a kendo stick and started to fight back. The match went up the ramp and out came Sami Zayn and started to beat down the Viper with a chair and caused him to lose the momentum of the match. Owens would get the big win after a frog splash and that was the end of the show!

There you have it. Smackdown was not half bad, but it wasn’t great either. There is a lot of different people on this roster and yet only a few people were showcased. I won’t drill down names, but it’s sad to see such little content for a Smackdown show that was supposed to be a better show than Raw. This sucked. It felt longer than it should be for sure.
